Reviews For A Shocking Discovery
Otherwise it's gr8, as no doubt you've been told already. Author's Response: Thank you for your review. I am glad you like the story but I am afraid I am going to have to disagree with you on my use of 'advisement'; it means to take under careful consideration. It is the sort of word that I feel Severus would use. If you read the sentence again, you will see that 'advice' does not fit. And I doubt there is a fanfiction anywhere out there that does not have small errors scattered hither and yon, but I do try my best (as did my beta) and I pride myself in my vocabulary. Lesley~
Author's Response: Thanks. Glad you enjoyed the chapter, even after the long wait. Lesley~
Author's Response: Thank you Key of Grey for such a lovely review. It is so nice to welcome new readers on board. Thank you for finding my story and enjoying it so much. It was important to me to make sure that Harry and Sev remain in character as much as possible and that did not mean instant rapport. There couldn't be after their turbulent history. Everything is fine 'Down Under' at the moment, thank you for enquiring. At least, it is as far as natural disasters go. Lesley~
Author's Response: Thank you for your review. Very glad you are enjoying the story, though I do not think I am any more needy in regard of reviews than any other author. If people do not tell us what they think, we have no idea whether we are just writing to exercise our fingers. The hits statistic is not an indication of whether all of those people are reading the story, it just tells us that someone has clicked onto it, maybe read two paragraphs and perhaps given it the flick. But I imagine you know this anyway. It is lovely to read peoples reviews...well, not if the review is bad. LOL Lesley~
I love your characterizations (particularly Ginny) and you're writing style. IT is very easy to read and I've not been jarred out of the story-verse by awkward phrasing or inappropriate slang, for the which I thank you. I just want to add the following and tell you that I'm looking forward to the next chapter. Bravo! DAncingkatz Author's Response: What a truly lovely review. Thank you so much. I am thrilled that you think so much of ASD. I agree with you about the ease whith which some fics have Harry and Sev accepting each other. They both want the relationship ultimately--now--but the past would be very difficult, particularly for Harry, to forget. He wants to forget, and he always feels guilty if some memory raises its head because he thinks he has forgiven Sev for all the harsh years. Things will get easier but it will take a long time. also, the two of them are so very alike, temper-wise, even though Harry has a much softer disposition. Being Australian, I think it is easier for me than an American (and I imagine the majority of authors are from the US) to stick to being British in the stories...certainly as far as vocabularly goes. Our culture is probably more British than American, but I am a real Anglophile anyway, and have been there as well as having a friend who is British. We also get a lot of British television over here and I usually enjoy British movies and find them more realistic than a lot of American TV or movies. Saying that, there are quite a few American shows I love too. Anyway, thank you again. Lesley~
This was a good chapter. Interesting to see Snape's affection and concern for his son continue to grow. I could understand his concern about Harry and Ginny's relationship. I could also understand why he acted so irritated. However, I was disappointed in Harry's anger and rudeness towards Snape. I would have hoped that his growing happiness ast having a father would be helping him to control his temper. I was surprised that, once he'd recovered his equilibrium, that he did not apologize to Severus. I guess you could say that shows his growing ease with Snape as a father, but I still found it disappointing. I expect more of Harry. Intresting too that Snape did not insist upon an apology. I think he would have a few weeks ago. At the very least, it would have escalated into a real argument. Author's Response: Thank you for your review and I do appreciate the fact that you do continue to read, despite the overlong time between updates. I have to admit that this story was updated on fanfic on the 1st April. I forgot to update over here and that is partly due to the fact that I don't get a very good response over here. But then I remembered to update and I reaalise that there are readers over here who do follow the story and it does not matter that there really are so few. They appreciate the story as much. I will be updating from now on at the same time as I do over at fanfic. I see where you are coming from with regards to Harry. And perhaps he should have apologised but as Sev and Harry were getting on so well afterwards, he didn't think about it. He would have thought about it if things had escalated because Harry gets upset when he thinks his father is really upset with him. Also, Severus was not entirely upset about HArry and Ginny kissing...he was already in a foul mood because of his worries about the next day. So, he wasn't being entirely fair either. He is worried about how far Ginny and HArry have gone, but their kiss of the moment was not really the problem, it was the catalyst to set him off. Harry explained that he ahd been interacting with Hermione and Ron just before Severus arrived. But you can be sure the two teens will be more circumspect in future. The two wizards are certainly advancing nicely with their relationship and they are both learning as they go. Don't forget that HArry is not used to being chastised because someone cares for him and wants him to learn, rather than being chastised just for breathing! Lesley~
Author's Response: Thank you. Sorry it took so long. Lesley~
great work Author's Response: Thank you. Glad you enjoyed it. Lesley~
Author's Response: Thank you for your review, first time reviewer. I am glad you are enjoying the fic. Drop me a line a bit more often though. WOuld love to hear your thoughts. Lesley~
Author's Response: LOL...I have had several different opinions about HArry and Ginny kissing. I think a lot of people forget what it is like to have been a teenager and in love. HArmione had her book and Ron was daydreaming. They had all been talking before Sev invaded the Great HAll. Sev eas in a bad mood..he took it out on HArry and Ginny. Thanks for your review. Lesley~
