Yay Snape's told him! Wow, interesting the way Harry's reacted, and yes Ginny's coming to Privet Drive. I've always wondered what would happen if she did. I haven't really found any stories with it in, so I'm especially excited now! Excellent work, keep going, I'm sorry for not reviewing before, I will try to be better.

    Author's Response:

Thank you for your review and your kind words. Very glad you are enjoying ASD, and it is especially nice to hear from you.

I am also very glad that you like Ginny because there are a lot of people out there who don't.

Please keep reading and i hope to hear from you again.

Wow! This chapter turned out great! Poor Harry didn't handle the news too well. Hopefully Ginny will be able to get some response out of him. Hope you'll find time to update this great story again soon! :)

    Author's Response:

Thank you Alexis for another lovely review.

I am working on the next chapter diligently, except for the time when I am answering great reviews. If you take the time to write them, I think I should try to respond.

    Until next time.

That was...just amazing. You've got a great story going on here. I like how you've established the relationship between Snape and Harry. Its there, and its going, but its also moving slowly. So while Snape hasn't used to knowledge that Harry is his son to have complete control over Harry and prove a point, he also hasn't become compleltly google-eyed over the whole thing either. All in all, its a great story, and I hope you continue with it very soon.

    Author's Response:

Thank you so much for the compliment. So very glad you're enjoying ASD.

I can promise the next update within the next 24 hours and I hope you enjoy it as much.

I would love to hear from you again.

Interestingly, I just read an article about embryos being made from the DNA of three parents. LOL! This is certainly a unique take on the Severus is Harry's father plot. I love how you have kept James and Lily intact while pulling in Severus.
This is actually a review for Chapter 17. (I was having technical difficulties reviewing on ff.net.) I'm trying to come up with the muggle equivalents to how Severus was handling Harry with those hexes. (Perhaps it would be the same as tying him to a chair and duct taping his mouth... Taking his wand is maybe the equivalent of tying his hands behind his back? The point is, it was not good parental form...
I was LOL in some of the earlier chapters, at Snape's frustration when Harry did not do what he said – exactly when he said it. I think he is really going to have to have to learn to lighten up. Overly strict authoritarian parents tend to have just as difficult a time with resistance, as overly lenient ones. I read a quote somewhere: “Rules without relationship equal rebellion.” No doubt, Snape will have to show respect - if he has hopes of genuinely receiving it. That being said, I really love your portrayal of Severus. His internal monologue is so revealing and insightful. I love how his view of Harry is gradually shifting and becoming more fair. I find his poor parental form quite “in character” at this stage of their relationship. :)
Harry is also done well - though you portray his anger a bit in the extreme. I have seen Harry's anger occasionally overblown to the point where his character is such a brat he loses all likability. (Your portrayal has obviously not reached that level.) :)
Love your use of language and find this a very good character study. Have you read “A Place for Warriors” by Owlsaway? I recommend it as another very good (in canon) character study on Harry and our very snarky potions professor.
I am really looking forward to more and thank you most sincerely for sharing this story with us!

    Author's Response:

Hi there. Thank you for the lovely long review and I'm sorry ff.net wouldn't let you review.

I have had a few problems with that myself. I have written out a very lengthy review, very detailed and when I clicked submit, I got the login page telling me that my three days were up and that I had to log in.

By the time I had done that, my review had disappeared into the ether and I had to write it again. Don't think I wasn't peeved, esp as you are allowed to review anonymously.

Anyway, glad that you tripped over to P&S to let me know what you think.

Sev certainly has got a long way to go before he gets the 'father of the year' waard, that's for sure, but he WILL improve with time. He ahs got Harry's up and down emotions to deal with as well as the new knowledge that was far from welcome at the time.

Of course, he has always protected HArry, and that combined with his feelings for Lily and the reluctant regret that he never did do as his mother asked and make overtures to James are the factors that he has to build on to work on a relationship with 'the Pest Who Lived'--otherwise, I am sure he would ignore the whole business.

I am glad that I haven't totally turned you off HArry. I certainly would not want to do that. But can you imagine how hard this must be for him? I can't really and I'm writing the story. I am trying to remember teenage angst and having always been a pretty easy going and obedient kid who was in my teens during the sixties, I am not a good case study. Instead, I am channeling my nineteen year old son who can be the most gorgeous-natured boy in the world and then do a complete 360 degree turn around and turn into 'hell on Earth.

Harry has got a lovely nature, IMO, but he does have a temper; compliments of Severus.

Thanks for the rec: no, I haven't read Place for Warriors. I will look it up.

Thanks again for the effort put into this review. I hope to hear from you again

    Lesley.

Brilliant. I love Harry's reaction...flat and matter of fact.
He can't imagine having a father...especially anyone other than James.

    Author's Response:

Thanks so much for your review. Glad you see things my way.

I think it would be nearly impossible to get his head around this, especially seem as his knowledge of Muggle DNA would make this revelation totally beyond imagination.

Also, he was still just getting his head around the 'cousin' revelation.

    Keep reading and keep enjoying,

    Lesley.

Uh oh! The s*t is hitting the fan now! I have been reading A Shocking Discovery and really enjoying it. I was psyched to see that you updated it, and this was a great chapter! I'm wondering if Tonks really does have a bit of interest in Harry... all that petting his face and the short skirt, plus the eyelashes comment in the previous chapter, do make it seem possible. But now I can hardly wait for the next chapter to see how Severus is going to talk his way out of this one. What a terrible moment for Harry to find out - pretty much the opposite of his plans!

    Author's Response:

Very glad you are enjoying the story. Thank you for the review.

No, Tonks only has eyes for Remus, even in my world, but she is incurable touchy-feely--that's how I see Tonks anyway: friendly to the nht degree.

    Be prepared for fireworks.

I will gladly investigate the extra five minutes. ^^
Wow, I´m amazed by the length of this chap... and I´m in a kind of disunion, on one hand I think the describtive or monologue parts could have been a litle bit shorter but on the other hand I had no problem reading through the chap. Well anyway, I only can say I absolutely love your Harry-Snape scenes especially Harrys emotional outburst because it showed just how much affection (maybe unconscious) has grown between the two. I also like the development of Harry's and Dudley's relationship very much. Thank you sooooo much for writing such a long chap!!! ^___^ Good night, your Melf.
okay, it were 7 minutes. ^^"

    Author's Response:

Thanks for the review and plowing patiently through the internal monologues.

Glad you like the Harry/Snape interplays because I really enjoy writing them too.

    Please keep reading and enjoying

    Lesley.

Sooo cute!!! Thank you very, very much for the wonderful long chap!!!! I adore your way of setting Severus into action (his speaking, his way of behaving...) along with the Harry Snape interaction. ^_______^ I hope you get many more reviews because your story is worth a review!!!!! Yours truly, Melfis.

    Author's Response:

    Thanks for another lovely review.

Very glad you enjoy it as much as you obviously are.
