Reviews For A Shocking Discovery
Full of suspense, this chapter! Author's Response: Hi again. Still enjoying? Now you wouldn't want me to spoil the surprise, would you. Lesley
I liked the way you described Snape's thoughts on his students, especially Theodore Nott (and I wonder if he will play a more important part later on in your story). And the part where you explained about the relationship between young, easy to impress, Severus and older, self-confident Lucius was very well done, too, I thought! I'm looking forward to reading the next chapter. Author's Response: Hi there Asterix. Welcome on board. So pleased you have started ASD. Thank you for the review. Glad you enjoyed it. Lesley
Author's Response: Thank you. Glad you enjoyed it. Lesley
Author's Response: Thanks Tab. Glad you enjoyed it. Did you find many mistakes? LOL. I'm hoping to be able to bring Remus into the story a bit more now. I love Gift so much partly because of Remus' presence amongst the main players. His relationship with Sev and HArry. I am working towards a lessening of Sev's hostility towards the lovely werewolf. Sev is finally finding out that Harry has definitely gotten undder his skin big time. And he is not as averse to it as he envisioned himself being. Apparently finding out you are a father to a teenager can be just as addictive as finding out you are a father or going to be a father to a newborn. It is a newborn relationship after all. Kreacher definitely had to come into it as I am sticking to canon as much as possible. Thanks for the review Tab. Les~
I am so sorry to hear about your sister. My condolences. How you managed to write such a great chapter, is beyond me, but I guess it is a sort of soothing process to write, although it doesn't take away the grief completely. Author's Response: Hey Dawn. I have been going through my reviews and found several not answered from around the time my sister died. I think I was way out there and let things slide. Thanks for your condolences, but I probably 'spoke' to you somewhere else to thank you. Lesley~
One thing I have really enjoyed about this story is how you have kept Snape in character, while allowing his feelings towards Harry to grow. You've made the transition very realistic, and I especially enjoyed this chapter because although Sev really struggles with showing his feelings, and Harry struggles with accepting Severus' change of heart, they are finally on the road to understanding one another. Ooh, Kreacher is creepy isn't he. Poor Harry, having to be his master. I love how Sev is such a good support for Harry in this. I also enjoyed the little argument between Hermione and Ron. Too funny! Ron really is clueless, isn't he! I simply can't wait for the next chapter. MY heart can't take it! :0 Author's Response: Thank you for the review, also. Lesley~
Please accept my heartfelt condolences on the loss of your sister. I lost a sibling last year as well and, although I'm sure the circumstances are different,I understand the pain of it. That said, thanks for another wonderful chapter. It amazes me how you show Severus warming towards Harry while still keeping him in his usual snarky character. I am also enjoying your characterization of the ever clueless Ron. Thanks Again, Donna Author's Response: I was going through my reviews Donna and found I had not responded to this one. Thank you for your condolences. I do not think I was functioning very well and so missed several reviews. I know it was a while ago, but I am glad you enjoyed the chapter. Lesley~
Author's Response: A belated thank you for this review and your condolences. Didn't realise I had unresponded to reviews. Lesley~
Author's Response: Better late than never! Thank you Becca, for your LOVELY review.
Lesley~
Glad you fixed Harry and Ron quickly, while Harry and Snape are great, both really needing their relationship, but both too alike and too inexperienced in normal family interactions to have a clue where boundaries lie. And who would have thought Snape would take to Pig like that! Looking forward to the next chapter. Author's Response: I didn't want Ron and Harry to be on the outer for too long. I love Ron and I think that Ron would be loathe to allow any disagreements to fester. He is very volatile, true, but he needs Harry as much as Harry needs him. I feel that Ron is closer to Harry, or perhaps just as close, as he is with his brothers. Sev and Harry are advancing faster now and the setbacks are able to be dealt with. Both of their emotions are fully caught up in the other now, and neither is fighting the connection. I think Sev would be an animal lover and this is the indication that he is a redeemable character; he is capable of kindness and caring, and that is beginning to overflow into his dealings with other wizards, particularly Harry. Of course he has to keep this side of himself secret, except in front of the select few. But of course, snark and nastiness are still there...he has not turned into an angel, just a more tolerable human. The only one who knew this before was Albus. Thanks for reading Lesley |
