Snape can't give any advice unless it's wrapped in nastiness.  That's his way. Both girls take the advice in their own way,

I’m glad I hooked you.  I’ve been trying to imply and hint at things because I used to hate it when authors told me what connections to make, but it’s a bit of a balance I guess.

That speech was kind of my baby for a little while.  Shape’s teaching career has been marked by great speeches, and I was worried I wasn’t up to it.  A friend of mine calls it “in which Snape wows with mathmatics”.

I liked writing Harry putting the pieces together, and I’m glad it didn’t seem too contrived.

Thanks, I’m glad you thought everyone was in character.  I sort of feel bad for everyone right now, and actually, a lot for Ron.

There are times I’m sure that Remus stood there watching Sirius and Snape thinking “you two can only keep fighting this way because neither of you has grown up at all since you were fifteen!”

He doesn't respond well.  No one is responding at all well in this fic to anything, and I like to keep to that pattern.

Poor Snape, he doesn't just have grandparents his own age, but a massive amount of negative history with them.  There are, however, worse things in the world than being ecstatic that one's grandfather got himself killed by a megalomaniac, and yes, I am foreshadowing.
