You know, I can tell the suicide attempt is coming, Harry's just too low and accepting of his impending doom, the only thing stopping him his is sense of duty; however, you just blatantly refrencing it is unnerving. I'm still going to read and I've never had trouble with that sort of thing, nor has anyone close to me, but it is painful to think about.
Mind you, I'm not judging or anything, I just wish to share my opinion and reaction to your work.

Wouldn't the book fly into Snapes hand and then he would give it to Harry? I'm unsure about the elves as they are slightly mean to Snape but I am glad that you have not yet given Snape a wife or children as they would get in the way-at first- of the Snape-Harry relationship and it would widely change your Snape's behavior. But I love the way Snape has reformed so much already and I hope Harry will grow to trust him soon.

Harry has very little reason to trust adults, as most adults in his life before Hogwarts and whilst at Hogwarts, reall haven't shown how to trust. Especially if you look at all Harry, learnt for 10yrs prior to Hogwarts, from the Dursleys (and the neighbours, school) he learnt that adults can't be trusted or relied upon, adults always change the rules......Harry learnt that he can only depend upon himself. Though he has learnt to share somethings with his friends and give them some trust, most of what makes "Harry" hasn't been shared even with them!!

I adore the story so far and have to say that I don't think Harry is OOC at all, especially as you have hinted at how he was treated by the Dursleys, I think it is 100% in his character to react like this, especially since if he disobeyed he'd die. I have enjoyed this story and think it is better than many others because ofter Harry amd Snape are friends too quickly; I think the way Harry is holding back is just how he would behave if anything like this had happened in the books, not at all OOC! You have an incredible talent for writing, and more than once I have found myself crying as you describe how Harry is feeling. You really write about emotions well, and make the reader understand and empathise with the character.

I'd write more about how excellent your story is, but I HAVE to read on! LOL

    Vicky

Author's Response: Thank you!  I'm happy you think Harry's IC...it's hard to tell sometimes.  I really appreciate your thoughtfulness.

    Great chapter!!!
And congrats on being a featured story
Did you make up the history of the snitch? That was really well done!

Author's Response: Thank you!  No, I didn't make up the snitch history; I read about it on the HP Lexicon site, but I'm glad you liked it!

Sorry to bug u but i had a question; i was reading the story again and a thought came to me. Snapes probably going to be VERY depressed that Harry's really only living so he can off Voldie the off himself. Do you plan to make this happen slowly or all at once? I was just really curious. But u know what hey say ' curiosity killed the cat, but satisfaction brought him back.'
Aagin, sorry to nag and bug you. And also GREAT JOB on the story. Aswell as PP.
    THANKS!

    Author's Response:

    Hi, Nightshade,

You aren't bothering me at all!  I'm just not sure if I can answer your question without giving away spoilers for the story.  I'm not entirely sure I understand your question...are you asking if Harry will kill Voldemort and immediately attempt suicide?  Are you asking will Harry actually make a real attempt or instead will he slowly deteriorate until he's reached a dangerous point?  As for the timeline...it's kind of hard for me to say how quickly things will happen because often I'll start writing and things will end up taking longer than I'd planned.  Thanks again!

I meant to ask, what is happening with Draco? Surely this is an offense, like assault in our world. You would think expulsion would be the least--after all all these kids have a potentially lethal weapon in their hands and there must be serious rules for the misuse while on school grounds; to the extent that not even the Headmaster could not or should not cover something like this up.

    Author's Response:

Ah, Draco...good question.  At the very beginning, I did plan for Draco to be expelled, but I soon realised that I needed him at Hogwarts later in the story, so I changed my mind about that.  What he did is a very serious offense, and he could be sent to Azkaban for it.  But the situation is being kept quiet, not so much for Draco's sake right now as for Harry's.  DD believes it could be dangerous for Voldemort to learn of the spell  (Would it really?  I don't know, but for plot reasons, I want the spell to be a secret for now so that's the reason I'm using).  DD also knows that if Draco Malfoy were expelled from school and possibly put on trial, there would be publicity and questions, so he's decided not to go that route.  Also, there is a little bit of him wanting to give Draco another chance and believing that he can be redeemed.  For better or worse, that is one of DD's characteristics.

Draco is not going to get off scot-free though.  DD never told him he wouldn't be punished, only that he was thinking about what would be appropriate.  Draco will be in the fic more later on, and he will come to understand what a horrible thing he did to Harry.  Thanks again!

Very emotional. I think this site should have hankie symbols for their stories or chapters. Poor Harry. I wonder though how Snape would feel if Harry went around saying yes, master and no, master. That might drive home just what Harry is feeling.

Author's Response: Thank you!  Yes, you're right.  Severus has realised that Harry is depressed, but he still doesn't really understand how devestated Harry truly is.  He'll learn eventually, and be determined to help him, but not just yet.

I just started reading your story and I loved it so much I couldnt stop until I got here. I think that Harry's submissiveness is also a product of his depression and suicidal thoughts so its not OOC in the context of your story. I like the way that Snape is trying so hard to please Harry and to get him to smile. I really love this story and please continue to update!

Author's Response: Thank you!  I'm really happy you're enjoying it.  Thank you for your comments on Harry.  I could see him being this way, and I'm glad you can, too.  I'm working on the next chapter of my other story right now, but then I'll get back to SC.
