Reviews For Slave Child
Oh well, please update soon. ;oD Cecilia Author's Response: Thank you! Yes, I think Severus can speak better with his actions right now than with words, and even more so when Harry is asleep. He really is beginning to care, though, perhaps more than even he realises yet. Well, the adults do know that Harry is going through a hard time, but they just don't understand how bad it is. Harry is very depressed about being a slave, but yes, there is more to it than that also. Grief and guilt over Sirius' death is also a big factor, plus feeling so responsible for defeating Voldemort...all of it combined has added up to a huge burden for Harry. But the adults, especially Severus, will do their best for Harry once they do understand better how depressed he is. Thanks again!
Also, I like the way Snape and Harry still have a lot of distance, (although I'm guessing probably a lot of that will be covered in the next chapter)! This makes it much more interesting as a story, and it's not hanging on the emotions as much. Also the loss of apetite works perfectly for Harry. I particularly love Zan and Norri, especially their glares at Snape! (; The Snidgen was an innovative idea. Please keep writing! I'm looking forward to the update. Author's Response: Thank you! Glad you like Prince Hall; it's based on an actual English manor house in north Yorkshire. I only wish I had a 'Prince Hall' to live in...but I really wanted Harry to have a beautiful home. He deserves it after having to live at Privet Drive for so long. Severus and Harry have come a long way, and they still have a long way to go, too, but yep, they should cover a little more distance in the next chapter. I can't take credit for the snidget/Snitch though. It's all in the HP Lexicon, but I'm glad you liked it. Thanks again!
Author's Response: Thank you! I'm just so thrilled about SC being a Featured Story; it's quite an honor! I'm going to try to work on the next chapter this weekend.
Great chapter; the characters are very much in character but I can help but think they are all blind. Author's Response: Thank you! Yes, I do agree that the adults have a big gaping blind spot where Harry is concerned, but then, I often felt that way in canon, too. Harry had way too much to deal with in the books...of course, it made fantastic stories and I love them, but in reality the adults should be ashamed of the way they let Harry (and friends) bear such heavy burdens alone. But I guess I'm guilty of using the same plot device here, too. I'm not sure how modern a view the wizarding world has of mental illnesses, and if they do know how to cope with a young person who has suffered the burdens and losses that Harry has. Possibly they are more adept at dealing with it than I've portrayed, but it wouldn't work as well for my story. So I'm just saying that they do realise Harry is going through a difficult time, but they don't understand how bad it is (even though they really should) and they don't know exactly how to help him. Thanks again!
I'm sorry i wasn't very clear on my earlier question, now that i look back on it i'd get confused too. So sorry. My question was weather harry would imeadiately (sorry for spelling errors. Spellings not my strong suit.) or slowly get up to it? Again GREAT JOB!!!!!!!!! AND PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE UPDATE AGAIN SOON, THIS STORY IS JUST TOOOO GOOD!!!! This chapter seemed to really touch me though. I'm looking forward to the end of this story VERY MUCH. I'll be sad when its done. Thanks! Author's Response: Thank you! I'm glad you're liking the story! I don't know how well I can answer, not because I'm trying to be difficult, but I don't want to put blatant detailed spoilers out where everyone can read them, cause I know some people really don't like to know much about what's going to happen. The best I can say is that Harry is determined to live to beat Voldemort, but he does want to be reunited with Sirius and his parents as soon as possible, too. It's what he's living for right now. As for the end of the story, there's still a ways to go, and then I do think there will probably be a sequel. Thanks again!
Author's Response: Well, I've got to save something for later, don't I? I'll try to work in a bit of snark before too long, okay? You're right that Dumbledore's hand is healing, just because I decided I wanted him to live and be well, I suppose. And yes, Narcissa is not going to win any 'Mother of the Year' awards here. Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Author's Response: Thank you! Severus really is noticing more about Harry's character, now that he's open to really seeing him. He'll try to help Harry, but again, it's going to take a little time. For one thing, Severus doesn't realise how dangerously depressed Harry is, and for another being open about his emotions is new and difficult for him...he's working on it, but he'll have to be pretty shaken up before he really opens up.
Author's Response: Thank you, Scorpia! Severus really has changed a lot, hasn't he? And he'll change even more before it's over. Yes, I do plan for Severus to adopt Harry at some point in the future...that will be a key element in helping Harry to begin to see that the slavery spell doesn't have to define the rest of his life.
Author's Response: Thank you! Harry is so depressed right now, you're right that Severus is going to have a hard time helping him to come out of it. Fortunately, Severus is quite stubborn when he wants to be though.
Author's Response: Thank you! |
