Reviews For Slave Child
Author's Response: Oh, Mahi, I love the scenes where Severus and Harry are affectionate with each other. There will be a lot of that, I promise. But I don't think Severus is ready yet. He cares for Harry, a lot, but he's never had anyone be very demonstrative with him and right now he feels uncomfortable with that, plus he knows Harry doesn't really trust him yet and he's trying not to do anything that would make Harry uncomfortable. But Severus will open up more as the story goes along.
Author's Response: Thank you!
Author's Response: Thank you! Yes, I've been writing a lot lately...I just can't seem to stop, lol. Yep, lots of possibilities indeed for Diagon Alley!
My favorite line in this tale: "Snape was still shaking him so hard it hurt. "You ungrateful, insolent brat! I try to be good to you, and this is how you re-pay me? Once again, you can't keep out of my private affairs, can you? Well, you'd better start watching your step, Potter! You're my slave now! You can't go running to Dumbledore for help anymore. I can do anything I want to you. I can beat you. I can starve you. I can do anything, and no one can lift a finger to help you. So you'd damn well better start showing some respect or I'll make you sorry you were ever born!"" *snickers evilly*. And of course: "Never again," he whispered. "You're my child now, and no one will ever hurt you again." - !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! As ObsidianEmbrace says: "I am really glad that Harry is taking his time and not trusting Severus too quickly. I really am surprised that Severus just expects Harry to get over their past and start over." "I think it will be fun to see Harry and Severus exploring the shops and spending some time together away from school or Prince Hall." - It will be fun to see Snape/Harry relationship just like ... like father/son!.. "I think I'm just going to have Harry earn an O and rightfully have a place in Potions class, and he will receive his OWL scores in August. I'm thinking the OWL scores could be a nice lead-in for a conversation on some issues there that those two need to discuss..." - I can't wait! tabbycat:"Also, I think you've done well with the Sn..Severus thing, as that is far more realistic than Severus straight off." - Yeah, this is better... I'm really looking forward to the next chapter!!! Thanks Now officially *cough*: Dear Kristeh! Recently I have read your fanfic "Slave Child", and I want to say that it is really great! Thank you very much for writing it! Severus is just wonderful! Would you mind terribly, if I translate this fic into Russian language and publish it on Hogwartsnet (www.hogwartsnet.ru), Ïðîåêò "Ïîòòåð-‘àíôèêøí"(www.fanfics.ru), —êàçêè, ðàññêàçàííûå ïåðåä ñíîì ïðîôåññîðîì çåëüâîðåíèÿ —åâåðóñîì —íåéïîì(www.snapetales.com),Èñòîðèè ’îãâàðòñà (www.hogwarts-story.ucoz.ru)? I will state everywhere that I am just a translator and you are the author of the fic. Also, all the additional information (like your email or website) can be published, if you wish. Thank you once again for your wonderful story! Ksenezka (Ksenezka@ngs.ru) Please?*whelp's eyes* P.s. I wish I could write as well in English as you... How much mistakes have I done? Author's Response: Hi there! First off, thank you for such a lovely review! I'm really happy that you're enjoying SC. Your English is excellent! I'm always so impressed by those of you who speak English as a second language and do so well with it. I wish I could speak another language, but at this point in my life, I just don't have the time to devote to studying. I did study French for a couple years back when I was in school, but since I've never used it much outside of school, I've forgotten most of what I knew, and I wasn't exactly fluent in it to start with. I would be very honored if you wish to translate "Slave Child". Feel free to go ahead and do so, and of course you may also give the website address if you like, but you might wish to warn people that I cannot even begin to speak Russian, lol. Thanks again!
Author's Response: Thank you so much! I'm very happy that you're enjoying it!
Author's Response: Hi, and thanks! I'm glad you like it. I have to admit that the shoes and the Polyjuice might be an 'oops' moment. I originally was thinking that the clothes a person was wearing could expand/shrink to fit their changed appearances; a lot of things are possible with magic, right? But then it occurred to me just yesterday that when Harry and Ron used Polyjuice to impersonate Crabbe and Goyle that their clothes must have changed too...I doubt they'd have made into the Slytherin dorms with a Gryffindor crest on their robes. But by then I'd already posted the chapter and made kind of deal about the new trainers. I'm not sure yet if I'm going to try to find a way to fix or explain it, or just let it be. As for fitting with new clothes, I think they could either just buy things that they know are Harry's real size, or I might have there be a spell where clothes can be easily altered.
Author's Response: Yeah, he probably should have, lol, but the variety of circumstances in Harry's life have all converged at once to cause such a deep depression. Thank you!
And now back to my regularly scheduled thesis work session. :P Author's Response: Thank you! Glad I could help, lol! Yes, lots of internal conflict going on with Harry now...poor kid, he thought he had Severus Snape all figured out, and now the world's turned upside down.
Author's Response: Thank you so very much! Well, Harry's not used to getting much for his birthday, and he really didn't expect anything from Severus, so he was surprised.
Who are the blond people supposed to be? Btw, I liked how you had them 'wearing' the looks. Author's Response: Thank you! I'm glad you like Harry's thoughts...his mind is a bit easier for me to get into than Severus', I think. The blond people are not anyone special, their hairs came from a collection that Severus has amassed over the years for occasions when he needs to be in disguise. |
