Reviews For Slave Child
Also, I did NOT see that happening so fast. Like BAM! Ol' Voldy's dead!
Author's Response: Oh, thank you! I do love the emotional, angsty stuff. I think Severus would feel things very deeply, though he might be reserved in front of people that he didn't know very well.
Great job with Severus' perspective in this chapter. poor man, he is head-over-heels in a fatherly way. will be interested to see it from harry's perspective next. how will he feel with voldemort gone? will he be less suicidal? more or less receptive to severus' love? Author's Response: Thank you! Yep, Severus really has fallen in love with Harry, in a fatherly way. Yes, Harry is still suicidal right now. He's got the idea in his head and he's quite determined on it. I think he doesn't realise that Severus does love him. He's just now accepted that Severus cares for him somewhat, but he's not sure how much. He isn't thinking that Sev loves him yet, but part of that is because he basically feels unlovable, thanks to the Dursleys.
the way you have described severus' feelings is awesome...it really must have been difficult for you to write compassionate feelings from severus' point of view...i mean he is known for his snarkiness...well so when's the next chapter coming...waiting already Author's Response: Thank you! Sometimes it is hard to write Severus, but I think he could have very strong feelings of love and compassion for someone. He's used to being cynical and hiding his feelings, and there haven't been many people that he cared for...but I think once he does let someone into his heart, he would be very loving and protective, fiercely so. I see Severus as an all-or-nothing kind of person. He doesn't do things by halves. He may try to hide the depth of his emotions, but they do run very deep, imo. I'm about halfway through chapter 22. Hopefully it'll be ready in a couple days. Thanks again!
Author's Response: Oh, thank you! I'm glad you liked it.
Author's Response: Thank you! Yes, Severus is a little hard to write sometimes. I think I can get into Harry's head easier than Severus'. But I'm so happy you like him. Harry is wonderful, isn't he? My favorite character. Yes, Harry and Sev are going to have to talk about the slavery spell pretty soon.
This chapter was great. I especially liked the detail about Snape being the only one to work the countercurse for the spell - I'd never really thought about it that way. Also, the way the hospital had converted to battle mode was great! Author's Response: Thank you! Well, I'm going to begin working on the next chapter tomorrow, so hopefully I can update again soon, and you'll find out. I thought it made sense for Sev to be the only one who could heal Sectumsempra, as it was 'his' curse, and it's not used very often in canon.
Author's Response: Thank you! I love protective Severus.
Author's Response: Thanks, Tabitha! Yes, Sev is very remorseful. Harry still wants to die for a couple of reasons. First, yes the slavery spell has had a profound impact on the way Harry thinks and feels about himself. Also a large part of it is that Harry wants to be with his parents and Sirius. He's gotten it into his head that they're his only real family, and the only ones who could truly love him as a son. He knows that things are better with Severus, but it hasn't occurred to him that Severus could actually love him and really want him at Prince Hall. He just doesn't see that he could have a family with Severus. That's got a lot to do with Harry's poor self-image. The Dursleys drilled it into him that he's an unwelcome burden and that no one could want him, and Harry believes that deep down. So to him, dying and going to be with James, Lily, and Sirius is his best chance for happiness. |
