Reviews For Slave Child
Author's Response: Thank you! I really loved writing the whole scene where Severus gave Harry the adoption papers, and they may prove to mean even more than Severus and Harry realize.
I wish that Severus could adopt Harry legally, but the adoption is real in all the ways that count--in the heart. Lovely, heart-wrenching chapter. Please update soon, I am anxious to see how being back at school will affect Harry and Snape's relationship, and how Harry will handle everyone's questions. What are they going to tell everyone again, about Harry living in the dungeons with Snape? Hurry up Kristeh, get typing!! Seriously, though, I love it! Author's Response: Thank you, Pandora! >>>...the adoption is real in all the ways that count--in the heart. Yes, you're absolutely right about that. Severus and Harry are father and son in their hearts, and truthfully, going through the whole legal process wouldn't make any difference in how they feel. But Severus still decided to write up the papers, even though they're not official, because he knows how Harry struggles with self-esteem and finds it hard to believe that anyone could really want him. Harry would have those difficulties even without the slavery spell, thanks to the Dursleys, and the spell just compounds his problems. So Severus believed that it would help Harry if he could actually see that he was loved and wanted, written down in black and white, and know that Severus is serious about wanting to adopt him, that he only holds back out of respect for Harry's fears that the slavery spell would be discovered. I'll try to update again soon, lol!
Thanks, Nyx :) Author's Response: Thank you very much! I'll try to update asap.
Author's Response: Thank you! Harry's going to ask about the Hogwarts Express in the next chapter.
Author's Response: Thank you! The adoption papers, though unofficial, are important to Harry and Severus recognised that. I think this time of closeness and the developing relationship with Severus has been, and will continue to be, very important for Harry to begin healing, but there may well be some more angst before it's over, maybe even a hint in the next chapter. Thanks, Tabitha!
Author's Response: Thank you very much!
Author's Response: Thank you!
Author's Response: Oh, thank you so much! And Severus is very protective of Harry now. I really do think Severus could have been a wonderful protective caretaker, if he had ever let himself get beyond his bitterness. Severus seems like the kind of person who wants to be needed, to me. He has so much potential...it's fun to help him realize it, lol. |
