keep it up
Author's Response: Thanks! I'll try!
Wonderful chapter, Kristeh! I loved the descriptions of the classes, especially. It sounded like they were having fun and learning, too, which is what Hogwarts is all about, in my mind. Hermione and Ron being suspicious of Slytherin is also good because I think that they would be and I think that it adds to the realism and suspense. Very good!
Author's Response: Thanks, Kim! I'm glad you liked the classes...I struggled with them a bit, but I wanted to include them because I like all the little details, plus I'm hoping to show Severus growing as an instructor too. I don't think he quite believes that is possible for the students to learn and enjoy themselves at the same time. And yes, I think Ron and Hermione would be suspicious of the Slytherins too. For one thing, the enmity between the two Houses is entrenched. For another, they do have valid reasons for being suspicious. Some of the kids in Slytherin are all right, but there are some nasty characters there, too. I want to have Slytherin House be redeemed somewhat, at least to the point where the kids are not all judged simply by their House association and I want to have some 'good' Slytherins. But as Hermione said, they're not all poor misunderstood innocents either. And maybe not all of them can or want to be redeemed. Thanks again!
