It was nice to see some of the other characters in this chapter.

I was wondering what Harry's friends thought of all his Remedial Potions classes. It sounds like Hermione and Ron are too tied up in each other to pay much attention. The little notes about how Lily wrote in or marked the book are fun and would mean a great deal to Harry. I'm sure he is very grateful to Snape for giving him the book.

I just found your story and I'm sorry I didn't review each chapter, I just couldn't stop long enough to do so. It's an amazing story! I was so disappointed when I ran out of chapters. Excellent characterization of both Harry and Snape and your description of Occlumency is wonderful. The story itself is so interesting I couldn't "put it down". I can't wait for more updates.

Author's Response: Thank you for the kind words! I'm glad you're enjoying it; I hope you like the new chapter!

    I love this story!

Snape acts in character - mostly, sometimes he could be meaner but, the plot demands the small change in character - and I love how Harry still grieves over his Godfather's death. I agree, the book seemed to get over that just a tad too quickly.

I am eager to know when Snape will see more of Harry's Dursley Life. You've given small hints and nudges at his situation and I can't wait for the moment when Snape discovers it all - Like he actually lived in the cupboard.

    Can't wait for the update!

Good chapter. I liked the sudsy-water touch there at the end. :-)

    Author's Response: I did, too. :)

Thanks for the swift update! It was excellent as usual. I particularly enjoyed your Ron and Hermione, both of who were pitch-perfect. Neville, quietly grave, was also well-characterised. But it was Harry's self-realisation of all the changes that have gone on around him without his notice that ultimately struck me most. This seems to me an issue that comes up a lot in Snape-Harry-centric stories, but that is rarely addressed so candidly as you do so here.

I look forward to seeing how events develop. Very exciting!

    Author's Response:

I agree; Neville often gets marginalized and caricatured in fanfiction, and it's really a shame, because he's such an interesting character!

Harry's seeming blindness to the bigger picture, in many Snape-Harry stories, bothers me too -- which is why I try to write this story within its larger context. I'm happy to hear that it works!

    Thanks for reviewing!
