This was a wonderful story. You are an amazing author and i look forward to reading more of your work in the future. Major props for coming up with all the American stuff and the excellent plot. 10/10.

Author's Response: Wow and thanks so much, I worked really hard on all of that, I tried to make it as realistic as possible and I like being original.  I have 2 other stories posted on here and more on harrypotterfanfiction.com under the same penname, if you want to check them out.

It's taken me ages to review, and I'm sorry. I do have to say that I love the way you ended this. I remember you commenting about how you weren't exactly sure of how Snape was going to deal with Gavin, and I have to say, I think it was perfect. Like you said, Gavin was abused, and even though Snape was ranting and raving about giving Gavin a spanking he'd remember, the kid was so devistated that sensing Severus's disappointment was enough. Though, the follow-up threat was very appropriate, I thought.

As for the letter, I thought it was great and I could definitely imagine an adult Harry writing it. You've done a great job with keeping Harry in character. The P.S. puppy comment was really cute :) And I certainly love the names of the twins. I've always taken to the name Margaret, because I love the 40's ctress Margaret O'Brien and used to watch her movies constantly. lol.

Are you planning on writing a sequel? I haven't begun reading your other story but am dying to catch up. You're a terrific writer, and you've done a marvelous job here. Keep the stories coming ;)

    Author's Response:

Oh good, I must admit I was agonizing over the punishment part, because of that previous chapter, but I came to the realization that what Snape says in the heat of his temper will not always be what he does later on, especially after the terrible things Gavin had to endure at Draco's hand and also the kid was honestly sorry for what he'd done.  If he'd been a smartass or something, then I think Severus would've resorted to a spanking.  I have written a sequel, called Someone To warch Over Me, but can't post it here because it's a Gavin centered fic, and told mostly from his viewpoint, along with some of Severus's as well.  If you'd like to read it, let me know and I can email a copy to you.  Just post me an answer here.  I'm glad you liked the names of the twins, it took me a long time to come up with them, and my mom knows Margaret O'Brien.

Thanks for the great review and I've posted a short one-shot as well for the Winter Fest fic challenge if you want to read that too!

Aweseome! I loved that it was Draco. I really enjoyed your fic. It was fun to have one that was in the states as well. I really liked your Gavin character. He was fun. I especially liked the last couple chapters with the reunion and Ginny and Harry's interactions. That was fun. Great job!

Author's Response: Yes, I really loved making Draco the bad guy.  And Gavin was really fun to write as well, I've actually written another story with just him and Severus told from mostly Gavin's POV.  I'm thinking of posting it up on FF.net one of these days.  I've alos got a new fic up here, Hide Yourself Away, where Harry & Sev are related, something new for me to write about.  Thanks for the great review and I look forward to seeing you write more of Lily's Charm.

Author's Response: Thanks and I felt that it was deserved! So glad you liked it!

That was nice of Severus to help Harry out with his memories of the Dursleys. Only one more chapter to go! :)

Author's Response: yeah, he really wanted to help him, since he felt guilty about not noticing Harry needed help when he was in school and Harry needs a mentor/father figure.

Snape's punishment was fiting. It wasn't overly harsh, especially since Gavin had sort of been punished already with everything he went though.

Author's Response: yes, you're absolutely right, after all he'd been tortured by bloody Draco and he'd also suffered with the knowledge that he'd killed someone with his magic.

Thank you so much for this story. I'm sorry, I should have reviewed each chapter. I was so grateful you produced them so fast I was able to read them almost as a book would be, rather than chapter by chapter, and I'm most grateful. It was an awesome story and I love the powerful, loved Snape. The naming of the little Severus and Lily twins was fantastic and so were Snape's touching thoughts at the end. You did great helping us to imagine life on the streets, too. All in all, an awesome story and Draco finally got what he deserved!

Author's Response: Thanks and I'm so glad you liked it.  I wanted to show something different from the usual fics and I'm very happy that I succeeded.  I always thought Draco got away with murder in the original novels and which was why I didn't let him here!
