Good story! I am assuming that Severus somehow managed to get Sirius Black freed? Otherwise he probably woudn't have recieved custody of Harry. The beginning was cute too with everything from Harry's POV. Nice story!

I am not overly fond of stories which take place before the Harry Potter series started, so it took me by surprise to see how much I enjoyed your story. It was beautifully written, empathetically capturing Harry's perspective without sounding childish. Your epilogue would please at least as many poeple as J.k. Rowling's did, perhaps more *winks*. Aww...I'm glad that I found time tonight to read this...but I didn't know that this was the END! Oh well, you did a great job! I was just hoping that Snape could somehow keep Harry, but it's good to know that he at least helped out with his future. One question: Was Harry's scar hurting because of the woman (like a Quirrell from SS?) or Snape? Other than that, it was an enjoyable read. Thanks for sharing! (Although I would really like a Sevitus sequel...)
Author's Response: I did leave it open for a sequel... which unfortunately I can't even contemplate with two work-in-progress stories that have been severely neglected. It made me very sad that Snape didn't keep Harry or even stay in his life, but at least it seems like it was a good decision for Harry's sake. First Year Harry can't even remember being rescued, let alone the kind of hell he'd been rescued from. The woman is a QuirrellMort, all right. Sirius took what would have been Quirrell's position, but do you think that will really stop Voldemort when there's a juicy Philosopher's Stone to be had?

What a nice story! Harry safe, Sirius out of prison. Only Severus somewhat left out in the end. L-S
Author's Response: Snape does tend to be left out, doesn't he? He never gets proper credit for anything.

I wish you will consider expanding this, because it began brilliantly and sort of petered out in the last two chapters.
Wow, that was just wow. Okay, I am not usually speechless, but you so captured the confusion and fear that small Harry faced.
So, if I am correct, Sirius convinced Dumbledore to get him a trial and Sirius and Remus raised Harry, but somewhere in Harry's memory is a picture of a Severe looking man who helped???
Is there a sequel???
Author's Response: I'm glad you enjoyed it. Yes, the older Harry got, the less he could remember about his past. He was under four years old, after all. He's had no reason to remember the Very-Severe-Sounding-Man, or being rescued, since he hasn't needed rescuing in a long, long time. No thoughts of any sequels until my other stories are done. :-(

Pretty good! I really liked what you did in the beginning, with Harry hearing Snape and Lupin talking. The ending was a little weird...but it was all in all a very good read!

This story was way too short. I didn't want it to end. Please a sequel and or longer version, filling in the missing years. Great story though. Loved reading it.
Author's Response: Well, the missing years wouldn't have any Snape in it, so that's a no go. It would be interesting to pick this up as a Sevitus (or even Severitus). It would certainly be a unique premise, since most Severitus/Sevitus fics rely on Harry being desperate for a family, while this Harry clearly isn't lacking for that. Anyway, I'm happy you liked it so much that you didn't want it to end!

Nice job. I thought your first 3 chapters did a good job of portraying what Harry could realistically be like. Too bad that the person responsible for his rescue never gets the credit for it. After all, kids don't remember much from being four. Thanks for sharing your work.
