Reviews For Hide Yourself From A Prisoner
Author's Response: Aw, I hope you feel better soon! I hat eit when I'm sick and can't write. The whole thing with Harry hexing Sev had me laughing as I wrote it--it take son a whole new dimension when Sev's Harry's father, because then it's like OMG--I just hurt my dad!! I hope he's okay and then now I'm so dead! Yes there was a bit of irony there for both of them, but I wanted Severus to bury the hatchet with Sirius and what better way to do it then to have Sev break Black out of jail? Plus, it shows that although Sev can be a stickler for rules, he also knows when rules have to be broken, so in that regard he's a Slytherin. I hate the Dursleys too, they are, in my opinion, as bad as Old Voldy, only they don't get killed or put in jail the way they should've. And I'm sure Sev felt like kicking himself too after saying that to Harry and then hoping he'd stay out of trouble so he didn't actually have to do it. But . . .in the end he knows consistency is very important as a parent, and I wanted to stress that here, since i see so many parents these days who are never consistent and as a result their kids are little monsters (happens all the time in Barnes & Noble where I work). Draco DOES get in trouble for the Wolfsbane, nothing like how he SHOULD be in trouble--as in a trip to Azkaban or expelled--but Sev does what he can, LOL! Thanks and I hope to have the next one up fairly quickly, it's my birthday today!
Author's Response: I wish that had happened, but . . .he's such a sly sneaky little cockroach . . .and his father helps him too!
nice story by the way Author's Response: Oh Lord, and that was how my dad punished my sisters and brother too, not me though, because by the time I came along (i'm the baby) I knew what NOT to do and avoided getting him that mad and he was older and had mellowed a lot, I got the occasional smack or four, but not a belt, thank God! And just so you know, that was the last time Sev will spank Harry, he did it because he had promised him he would, but he hated it and will find alternatives thereafter.
i like that sev was also "uncle sev" to Aria i think that she too would see her punishment as coming not just from her head of house but from a loving uncle Author's Response: You're right, Harry would know the difference between just consequences and just being beaten for the hell of it the way Vernon used to do. Aria thinks of Sev as her uncle and has from pretty much the first day they met, so she expects his loving discipline like Harry expects it from Remus. Which is why Sev chose to lecture her in his private rooms instead of in his office--the office is for students, but Aria is family, therefore he brings her to his "home" to punish her, just the way he does Harry.
Great chapter as always and I can't wait for an update! Author's Response: Actually, Harry will endure a scolding from his godfather as well, once Lupin returns from the shack.
Author's Response: Draco's misdeeds will not go undiscovered and even if Lupin resigns, Aria will still be able to attend Hogwarts.
But overall, I really enjoyed this chapter. Good job! Author's Response: Thanks, I tried as much as I could to show that Sev's disapproval hurt worse than the spanking, so it wasn't abuse. And that part with Sev's hand, my sister admitted to me once that after she spanked her son her hand really hurt, so next time she was using a wooden spoon, hence all the wooden spoon references, actually that goes back to our childhood, my mother used to swat us with a wooden spoon when we misbehaved terribly, it's a typical Italian punishment. And she always felt bad afterwards and hugged us, so I'm drawing on experience here.
Author's Response: Thank you and there are two chapters or so left!
Author's Response: You'll bee seiing it soon, trust me!
Author's Response: Yes, that's my favorite part too! |
