Author's Response: Thanks and yes, Severus will be upset with Harry but since it was partly Malfoy's fault he won't be too hard on Harry. I love Rosie too!
The altercation between Draco and Rosie and Harry was Harry's fault. It is Harry's fault that he forgot to feed his dog, it was Harry's fault that Rosie went hungry for so long. It was Harry's fault that Rosie took the first meal available. And, no, trying to kick an animal is uncalled for but so is kneeing a guy in the "family jewels". Harry may have been aiming for Draco's knee, but that is too close to the area to be safe. I also noticed the others cheering Harry on as Draco ison the floor in pain - got to love Gryffindor prejudice. I doubt if they would have cheering if one of their own was on the floor. At least, Prof Min was not amused. Anyway, I loved the chapter and loved Rosie's point of view. And I hope Severus makes Harry wash cauldrons until the end of quarter - without magic. Author's Response: Thanks and I loved writing this chapter, Rosie is one of my favorites and it's always neat to have a chapter where Harry and Malfoy are fighting. You are right, this was Harry's fault and Severus' lecture will reflect this!
Anyway, I do have to say that this chapter is my favorite so far of this story. I love the fact that Draco got it where it counts, but I have a feeling that poor Harry is really in for it. I know what my version of Severus would say (and do) over the whole issue, but perhaps Harry will just get a very stern warning. And that's almost as bad, considering he'll be on thin ice for quite a while... I love the way you incorporate humor into this story. And I enjoy the thirteen-year-old moments that Harry, Ron, and even Draco (I suppose) seem to have. It makes the story more realistic. Again... not feeling very confident for Harry in regard to the next chapter, and I suppose I'm still waiting for him to plunge back into his 'old self' by accident and be defiant and angry that Snape is defending Malfoy... Man, now you've got me all curious about how things are going to turn out. lol. Write quickly! ;) P.S. I finished the sequel to SGGWB last night, and I adored it. The whole plot involving the Salem Witch Trials was spectacular, and since I'm a history-lover, I was completely swept away by it. I just knew that Severus was going to lose it at some point or another and give Gavin the spanking he warned him about, but I think that you handled that very well. And it was refreshing to see Severus work on keeping his temper but still retaining his snarky edge. It's a great story, and again, I loved it. Awesome job! Author's Response: I'm so glad you got a chance to read the rest of this, and yes, Harry is in serious trouble with his father over this latest escapade, although not as badly as he will be somewhere down the road, as you'll see when I post it! I'm still contemplating one of the end chapters of this story, which follows canon POA a great deal, and if you'll remember back in HYA Severus did warn Harry about the consequences of lying to him--it would earn him a spanking automatically. There probably will come a time during the end of this whole story when Sev will carry out that threat, only I haven't posted the CP warning up yet since I'm not sure how much detail I'm going to go into while writing it. Thanks also for reading "Watch" as I've abbreviated it, and that was quite a different story for me to write, since I haven't written in first person for quite awhile and wasn't sure if I could get into character right away. I loved writing Gavin's POV and Sev's too, and I also am a history minor, so many of my works include historical references in them, even if they're only snippets. The Salem Witch Trials were very interesting to read about and I learned a lot while researching them for my book. I had fun with it, dark as it was, and I'm thinking of maybe writing another Gavin & Severus story soon, since I love the way they mesh with each other! As far as the Prisoner goes, you'll be seeing more of Severus trying desperately not to lose it with Harry, whose impulsive streak and Snape temper keep getting him into more and more trouble! Author's Response: Oh, I didn't know that, thanks for telling me. I've never had French and I'll go back and fix it, I took Italian in high school.
Author's Response: yes, actually I did and Harry unfortunately has a teensy problem controlling his temper, especially with Malfoy over his beagle. Something which Sev is going to correct rather firmly in the upcoming chapter.
Author's Response: Yes, a beagle tends to cause chaos whereever it goes! And you're right, Harry needs to control his temper, that infamous Snape temper is his bane as much as it ever was his father's. Severus will be very unhappy with his son for sure!
