I liked meeting all the new spinxes and Neffy seems really cute and I hope she'll be a good sister to Harry. Can't wait to see who Sev feels threatened at.
Oh my, poor Harry! Severus was kind not to laugh at him for being scared or nervous! Great chapter!
Now that's a neat twist! I love Egyptian mythology and Harry and Severus's conncetion to the sphinx is very original.
I also love panthers, Bagheera was my favorite charcter in Kipling's Jungle Book.
One small detail I noticed, is that you used the word "aught" instead of "ought" which is the correct word here. I don't mean to nitpick, but I'm an English teacher and I continually correct grammar even when I don't need to. Other than that, your writing is error free!
