Reviews For Never Again!
Author's Response: Thanks. This was the first story where I tried that and it really worked well.
Author's Response: Okay, but my dad is Italian too, born and raised in Calabria and he said that Capice is a dialect and it was all right to use it. Anyway, it's a minor point, what I was really interested in was how you liked the rest of the chapter and the story.
Author's Response: Tobias was once a very bad alcoholic and he also had issues with anger management long ago. But the good thing is he's gone sober now and while he's still strict and can be nasty, he doesn;t do serious harm to Harry like he did to Severus. He threatens to use a belt but never does, though Harry does get spanked three times for being naughty. Evebtually Harry grows on his grandfather and he falls in love with him and it is harry who will try and get Sev and Tobias to reconcile.
Author's Response: Thank you! Never Again isn't quite the earjerker Shadows was, but it can make you cry in spots. Hope you enjoy this one just as much!
Thanks a lot for sharing :) Author's Response: Thanks and you can read the sequel it's posted here. Sev and Tobias will now have quite a good relationship, now that they have reconciled the past and changed for the better.
Author's Response: I did post the first part of this on FF.net, or rather DaughterofAres did before I had an account, but something happened and she stopped posting and when i tried to email her several times, I got no answer. I hope nothing went wrong, although it could just be something like her computer crashing and she needed to get a new one, she did mention to me way back in August that she was having trouble with it. I'm glad you like my universe, it was a shot in the dark, and I wanted to take all the HP characters down a different path, well for some of them. Tobias's character is based a lot on my brother-in-law who struggled with alcoholism for over twenty years before finally going sober for good and he is now a charter mentor for AA. I asked him a lot of questions about what an alcoholic remembered and how they reacted under the influence. he provided me with a great deal of insight for crafting a believable version of Tobias. Sev's character should always have some sarcasm in it, though I think that if given a chance, and a good dose of love and people who care about him, he could be a most loyal and loving father, husband, and friend. He never got the chance in the books, which was why i think he turned so very bitter and angry. But in my universe, he is given the chance and hence is a better Severus Snape. There's more with Tobias in the sequel Growing Pains.
You are officially going on my list of new favorites. Your writing and story telling abilities are amazing and you have a way with words that I envy like you wouldn't believe. I went into this story a little leery and very worried for Harry's sake, and I'm so happy to have read it feeling as much emotion towards the situation as Sev. You did an excellent job of creating the realistic within this world of magic. Gah, I love it! Author's Response: Thanks very much, I tried to make this as realistic as I could without making it too graphic and still having a positive resolution. I dislike unhappy stories where my favorite charcaters die, so I usually try and keep my stories with emotional impact and yet still giving the reader a positive feeling at the end of it. This story was very emotional for me to write since I knew several people who have been abused as children and I used to take courses on child abuse when i was a preschool and middle school teacher and so this was difficult to write in the beginning. That chapter where Sev confronts Tobias and walks through his memories was particularly difficult to write. Have you read the prequel, Where Shadows go yet? That's also very emotional but it is also amusing and funny too. I love this series which is why I've written so many stories in it.
I am really gad to be able to continue reading this story -- I'd been reading the 'Hide Yourself' stories when you e-mailed me letting me know this was here. Nice coincidence. -grin- Thank you. Author's Response: So am I, I felt so bad when I couldn't post more of it on the other site, but the account wasn't mine. And there's a short story (Forbidden Flight) and a sequel novel Growing Pains, plus the prequel Where Shadows Go, which is not completed yet. You weren't the first one to think Lucius was stalking them either, it really surprised me since I, of course, knew it was Tobias all along. I love this universe, it's just plain funny to write in it and there's so much scope for different situations and attitudes and all.
Author's Response: Thank you. There's a sequel to this, Growing Pains and a prequel, Where Shadows Go as well.
Author's Response: Thanks and hope you like the sequel just as much! |
