Even if the story is already complete? I loved the chapter, though I wish Siri would get over his hatred a little faster. He always did make me uncomfortable when he was spouting vitrol at Sev.

great chapter. sirius's reactions are so believable.

Author's Response: Thanks.  I always try to make sure I have realistic reactions from my characters.  It's actually sometimes painful to make them go through things.  Like this.  :o(  Glad you enjoyed it and thanks so much for the review.  :o)

Poppy should all four of them a sleeping draught and put them to bed.

They have so much baggage on the shoulders, that it will take a some time to help them. (Even Dr Freud might not take this group.)

One thing, I don't have HHOTOOP in front of me, however, my memory is that Sirius did not call Harry James in the book. I know in the movie, he said "Good one, James" just before Bella's spell knocked him into the veil.

    Author's Response:

Yep, I was using the movie for that part in the chapter.  I have done that a few times in the story.  The movies are sorta my canon.  LOL

These boys do have a lot of baggage, but we have many chapters to resolve their issues, don't worry.

    Thanks for the review.  :o)

What an awesome chapter, Tabitha! I really empathized so with everyone. I can understand Sirius' heartbreak over losing his younger brother in such an awful way. He had hoped to be able to have a positive influence on Regulus at school, and then to have to realise that that wasn't going to happen, to have to watch as his brother became more entrenched in Voldemort's camp...well, that would be devestating for anyone.

I can also understand why he blames Severus for it, though most of that blame is unfair. Regulus was capable of making his own decisions whether that was to become a Death Eater or to leave Voldemort (I don't know if you're going to follow canon Regulus' story or not...but the point is that Regulus has to take both the blame and the credit for what he's done). Sirius has to accept that.

It is also very hard for him to come back and suddenly find that everything has changed. He needs time to adjust, and I'm glad that Harry could see that. I hope Harry can find a balance between being there for Sirius and still being loyal to his father. But I do feel compelled to add that doing that would be very difficult and Harry is still a kid and he is not responsible for the decisions these grown men make. Sirius (and Sev) have to be the ones to learn to accept their places in Harry's life and learn to get along. It's not Harry's burden. But it might help if Harry can try to understand where Sirius is coming from and make sure that he and Severus know that both of them are loved and needed.

I feel so badly for Severus, too. You did a wonderful job of showing what tremendous pressure he was under at school with his horrible parents and housemates wanting him to go along with them and their evil ways and prejudiced beliefs, and trying to hang onto Lily and be true to his own heart.

Severus and Sirius actually have that in common. They both came from families that bought into the pureblood propaganda and wanted them to follow it, and they both rebelled against it in their own way. It's too bad they didn't realise it while they were younger. They could have been a great support for each other. Maybe I'm crazy, but I actually do think they could have been good friends if only they could have really 'seen' one another. Maybe they still can be though.

I was so glad that Severus confirmed that Sirius was still Harry's godfather, that Remus apologised and that Severus accepted (and called him by his first name).

It was a lovely chapter and I can't wait for the next one!

At this point, can Albus just spell all our four favorite guys to sleep? Poor Sirius...six months behind the Veil to come back to this would HAVE to completely mess with your mind. (Just being behind the Veil would mess with your mind). Can you really blame him for not being able to wrap his mind around all this? But I find myself all worried about Harry (does he really need to be in the middle of all this emotional drama when he just woke up!), and frankly, when was the last time Remus OR Severus had sleep? Remus might have just taken a little nap while Severus had his mini-breakdown at Harry's bedside in the previous chapter. Yup, Albus just needs to send everybody to see the Sandman. Pronto.

The flashbacks were PERFECT in showing why Sirius feels like he does. I find myself (at your intention, naturally) feeling sorry for everyone and being able to take no sides. I understand how all sides are feeling and can't quite fathom how they are going to find some common ground that isn't hostile, even for Harry's sake. But isn't that what makes this so delicious to read? Because of course you will find a way, OE, being the brilliant writer that you are.

I'm so glad Severus seemed to accept Remus' apology (and called him Remus, not Lupin, which says much).

And back to Harry again....he's such a ball of emotional anger, shame, and guilt I'm surprised he's not about to burst. And then he had to add in feeling guilty about not being able to convince Sirius about Severus as he's looking at him sleeping and I think that poor kid might crack. Maybe I'm feeling overly anxious for Harry here. *shrugs* Maybe it's the Mom thing in me.

I'm having a blonde moment. Remus gave Harry his fourth hug of the night? I'm missing one. Sirius gave Harry the first one, Sev the second. Where'd I miss the third? Hugs are important and I don't want to lose track of one. So I can't hand out one until I've accounted for them all.

OE, you always get one though! 'Cause I love the story so much!

    Author's Response:

Well, technically, Sirius gave harry two hugs....  ROFL though, you crack me up, Cathy.  Let's see.  It has been awhile since Severus had any sleep, it's true.  Remus cat a little nap, but not nearly enough.  And no, you are not worrying unnecessarily about Harry.  This really is going to end up being too much for him to deal with.  And we've barely scratched the surface here.  But don't worry, Severus will take care of Harry, have no fear about that.  The kid needs some more sleep.  But you know, he still needs to talk to his friends and learn a certain little secret with Remus AND eventually he needs to have a long chat witih Sirius.  But yeah...a nap would be good first.  Remember though...these entire two last chapters took place in a very short amount of time.  Harry can't even keep up with his own weariness at this point.

Glad you enjoyed those flashbacks.  They were a whole lotta fun to write.  And yep, everyone needs a little pity.  Common ground will indeed be difficult to find.  But hey, I could let it take a another 6 months or so.  Or maybe even a few years.  LOL

Severus did verbally accept the apology.  He did that for Harry though, just like he will accept Sirius for Harry.  There is really no way he would have done as much (even though he might have felt it) had Harry not been there.  He is way too emotionally stunted.  Sad...

Harry is about to burst.  It will be awhile though.  He hasn't really had time to digest all that's happened.  Nighmare city, Cathy.  Did you ever really doubt our poor Harry's capacity to give up angst?  LOL

Thanks for the review.  Glad you liked the chapter. ;o)

Great job as always,it was nice to see all those flashbacks, now I understand why really Sirius hates Sev. I hope some things will solve beetwen them, because Harry suffers a lot. A big hug for Remus how apologised to Sev(I didn't expect him to accept the apology). Have a nice day!

Author's Response: Thanks!  The flashbacks were very fun to write.  And yep, Sirius hates Severus for a bit more reason than has ever beeen explained.  Harry will suffer a lot and they will continue to work on their issues.  And glad you enjoyed Remus' apology.  It needed to be said.  :o)  Thanks for the review.
