Wow, this one was great, too. I could just feel the guilt and shame in my stomach with Harry... You did a really good job on this! Awesome!

Great chapter! I thought Severus handled the situation with Harry leaving with Sirius very well, and I'm glad that Harry finally realised that he does need to be careful...but then you pulled that terrible twist! Harry gets kidnapped when he's right with his father and not doing anything he shouldn't! That will have to really shake everyone up, if there aren't even more dire consequences which there well could be.

I just hate Bellatrix, you know. She may be even worse than Voldie himself. She's really insane and an insane sociopath is the most dangerous type, I think.

I can only imagine how Severus is feeling right now...devestated, panic-stricken, guilt-ridden even though it is in no way his fault, but he's a parent and he's going to blame himself anyway. I can't decide if I want Severus, Sirius, or Harry himself to beat Bella. Maybe all three together?

I just can't wait for the next chapter!

Oh, now that is just gross... Sirius kissing and making out with Bellatrix, ewww. Good plot twist!

Author's Response: LOL  I'm getting quite a chuckle at people figure that little morself out.  :oP

Wow! I'm impressed. Sev sent Harry to his room, made him write and essay AND grounded him too!

I guess when it's Harry's safety on the line, he's not afraid to play the stern father!

I just loved when Harry said "You're sending me to my room?" So shocked I guess that Snape would actually dare to punish him! Too cute you know!

And you are too evil for leaving us with that cliffie! Argggh. You are such an Evil Dark, Dairy, Daring, Queen!

So get working on the NEXT chapter Oh evil one! PLEASE?

    Author's Response:

LOL  Well, no, Severus was very uncomfortable, which was why he was being so careful not to yell.  He barely even changed the tone of his voice throughout.  And he just managed to grit out the punishment.  It wasn't easy at all for him.   I'm glad you enjoyed it.  :o)

Top Things I Adored About This Chapter:

    Best Dad Moment:

    “You’re….sending me to my room?”

Best Bored Teenager Who's on Restriction Moment:

“You wish to help me disembowel frogs?”

“Not much else to do,” Harry answered with a sheepish shrug.

    Best Lightbulb Moment for Harry:

Which is stupid really, since I’ve done loads of daft things which should have gotten me killed...and well Sirius has too, and between the two of us he did get killed and he should know better, I guess, so you’re right about not seeing him-”

Best Sirius Line (and about time):

“I can learn to get along with him, Harry. I will.”

    Best "Oh, Crap!" Moment:

    Bellatrix laughed, low and cold.

The irony of this chapter just leaped out at me. Severus has tried to the best of his ability to make sure Harry is safe (having either him or Remus escort him places) and finally knocked some sense into Harry about taking his own personal safety seriously, and what happens? Harry is literally snatched inches away from Severus...with absolutely no way for Severus to do anything about it.

Indeed, there is without a doubt complete devastion on the horizon. The demon bitch from hell is back.

How many times have I said, "Can't wait for the next chapter?" Lost count by now. :-)

Author's Response: The irony is indeed deep and tragic.  And you can bet Bellatrix planned it that way. I'm glad you enjoyed the chapter.  And thanks for pointing out all your favorite moments.  :oD

Oh damn,, the bi*&^h is alive.

oh queen of evil chiffhangers, this is horrifying.
Trips to the store should be boring not scary.

It looks like Severus and the mu, er Sirius will have to join forces to save Harry.

That was a nice apology by Sirius, by the way. Maybe he will mature some.

    Author's Response:

LOL  With Harry, anything can go from boring to horrific in but a moment.  LOL  And yes, Sirius might just end up being the most mature of them all.  Okay, maybe  not.  :o)

Geez OE, didn't you get enough Christmas angst with December 25th? Lol...here I was, hoping for some Christmas fluff in January and you go and throw me for a loop.

I do like this chapter though and I was glad that Sev wasn't too terribly stern with Harry; I was glad he hugged Harry, who was taking things way too hard. Harry does need to understand, however, that his safety is more important than other things and needs to be taken seriously (I'm glad Sev conveyed that so clearly and with obvious care).

I must say, I really liked the image you created of "Casual Snape" too, when he walks into the room with his sleeves up and top button undone. It was very un-Snapeish, but I liked it. He seemed to act a little more casual at that point too, which was nice to see because he can't be uptight all the time. I think it shows that Harry has loosened him up and it's a good thing; Snape has benefited from their relationship.

Yay for making up with Sirius too. I really hope that he will take his promise to Harry seriously though and try to get along with Snape. If Sev and James can somehow manage to overcome all odds, I think this could probably happen too. Sirius is going to have to grow up though in order for it to work. I think it will start happening faster now. He's lost so many years from Azkaban and death that he really never did get a chance to become a mature adult. Now that he respects Severus, hopefully they'll at least tolerate each other.

I really did not see the whole Bellatrix/Dawn bit coming. That was very clever and sneaky of you. I'm guessing that Dawn must have touched something of Harry's during last chapter, right? I don't remember what, but my guess is that she planted a portkey on him that would send him away when the word "father" was said. Because Harry always calls Sev his "dad" though, it didn't go off until just now when the apothecary said the word "father." That's my best guess anyway, though it could have been a timed thing too, I suppose.

Either way, I wonder if Harry will be able to take down Bellatrix by himself. He is strong and he has the determination to survive (and maybe knowing how much Sev would be devastated at his death will help him be more determined). I'm a bit worried that Harry might kill her and then be haunted at having done so; that would not make for a pleasant Christmas.

I'm looking forward to your next chapter--remedy the cliffy fast please!

    Author's Response:

One can never have enough anst, PG.  :o)

I'm glad you liked Severus' conversation with Harry.  I wrote it three different times, trying to get Severus' reaction just right.  It was very difficult.  He can never really be a huge disclipinarian with him and the only way he can react to Harry now is with kindness.  Casual Snape was very fun to write.  I think the message I was trying to send with that one, was that this was their last hurdle.  Severus was finally a dad and neither one came away from it worse off.  Severus was scared of this moment for a long time, and now that it's behind there, the underlying tension is gone.  Glad you liked it.

I think Sirius and Severus could definitely stand one another, though I think they'd never truly be able to be friends.  Sirius is making some good headway there though.

You'll have to wait and see about the Bellatrix factor and show she managed to be so evil.  :oP

I'm glad you enjoyed the chapter.  Thanks for the review.

Really enjoyed Harry being ashamed and Severus's quiet anger, very well written.

Great chapter. I love Harry and his dad, and the exchange between Severus and Sirius.
Poor Harry, can't even go shopping with his dad without bad things happening. Speaking of bad things happening, I knew Bellatrix was going to come back.
Please update soon! I start classes next week.

Author's Response: You knew Bella was coming back?  Clever, clever...  I'm glad you enjoyed it.  :o)
