Reviews For Lily's Charm: The Gift
Hope I had lots to f chapters
Great chapter! -P.G.
I loved this installment of lily's charm. You have a very unique and amazing way of playing out terrible events in a realistic and emotionally trying way, and I love it. Sirius's death is unfortunate, but I do agree that it was something that needed to be dealt with, and you did more than just justice to the event. I loved Remus's profession in the last chapter. "I loved him". Truly heartbreaking. Harry's reactions as well are just what I would imagine. I really love Severus in this chapter, though. He has grown so much, even more so than Harry. And that's saying something!
I still cannot get used to Severus expressing so much affection for Harry through physical gestures. He did this particularly much in this chapter, though he certainly had plenty of motivation. Yes, there can still be a snow dog. It will just have to be made by Harry, Severus, and Remus. They might find it therapeutic. Author's Response: Severus' overly touchiness has more to do with the fact that he was trying to reassure himself that Harry was all right. It's got to be rather shocking that your child was only moments away from killing himself. Also, I've established previously, that as a child who was denied love and affection for most of his life, Harry craves it. I think most human beings crave physical touch, whether or not they realize it or are willing to admit it. And Severus has grown to the point of unselfishness in regards to Harry that he can offer Harry what he needs. And yes, since one of the people Harry loved most in the world has just died, I think Harry needed all the physical affection he can get. Another thing to consider, is that Severus is well aware of just how easily such physical expressions of affection came to Sirius (at least my rendition of him), and it is quite plausible that Severus was unconsciously trying to fill that new void in Harry's life... See the part in this chapter where Severus expresses silent delight that he has been able to fill one of Sirius' other roles--a person that Harry can talk to, to add to that plausibility. I wanted to leave the recriminations there. I am glad you liked it. Guilt often comes with bereavemennt. And yes, snowdogs would likely be very therapeutic for all of them. Thanks for your review.
Author's Response: Thank you!
That was a great way to deal with Harry's mounting tension and grief. You just made Severus awesome and allowed Sirius to die a huge hero! I'll just never get enough of your stories...or for that matter, your cohorts Jade and Leslie. Author's Response: Thanks. I'm glad you enjoyed it. Severus was wonderful to write this chapter. Finally reaching his full potential as a father and as a friend. And in general, as a person. The entire impetus for the LC stories. :o)
So sad, yet this tragedy has brought Severus and Harry even closer. I really wish that Severus could have worked things out with Sirius before he died, but at least Harry now has some peace knowing that the animosity died along with Sirius. Lovely chapter even though I bawled my eyes out! Oh my, I'm at work, and here I go again! Please hurry my dear, because I'm sure that I'll have a good cry at Sirius'...sob...funeral....sob. Author's Response: Thanks Dawn! I love to make you cry. :oD |
