You should be proud of such an accomplishment, Tab. This epilogue was brilliant...a more-than-perfect way to end such a wonderful story.

    "Godfather's privilege..."

    Killed me dead.

Author's Response: YAY  Thanks Jade!!  I thought you might like that bit... :oD  Thanks for everything you've done for this story, Jade.  You are a gem--truly.

    Yes!!! - a sequel!!!

That was a wonderful way to end it - with the birth of little James Sirius (I am guessing - or Teddy Sirius).

Lovely story - even with the sadness.

Author's Response: Thanks!  I'm so happy you liked it.  YOu'll just have to wait and see what Harry's little godson will be named...  :oD

In the LC stories, the use of flashbacks and dual timelines has generally been natural, seamless, and an effective way to provide background information necessary for understanding the present scene. In this chapter, however, the balance is somehow off. No one of them is out of place or poorly done; perhaps there are simply too many of them. The majority of the chapter's significant information is contained in the flashbacks, held loosely together by the account of typical Christmas Day festivities, quite ordinary aside of the announcement of Tonks' news.

The characterizations, as usual, were quite entertaining, understated, and well-written. It is perfect that it was Severus who pushed for an original design in the jewelry shop; here, his demanding nature meets his regard for Harry, and now Ginny. Severus' reaction to Ron's snowball is priceless, as is Harry's response. Harry knows the forbidding tone is mostly an act, but he does have Ron going there for awhile. (And where is that snowdog?) I still cannot picture Severus deigning to put on a Weasley sweater, of any color or design, or to indulge in snowball fights with Weasleys and friends. I would imagine he still feels rather uncomfortable and out of place in such a setting, but perhaps it just goes to show how much he will tolerate for Harry's sake. He has done the perilous, the dramatic, the heroic, the nearly impossible for his son; now he must come to terms with the everyday and mundane.

    Author's Response:

Well, Christmas was meant to be ordinary, so I'm glad you thought it was.  This chapter was meant to show that Harry has a lot of happy memories, and that even though Sirius is gone, life goes on--just as ordinarily as it always has.  There was meant to be an overload of flashbacks.

Severus would never be so rude to Molly as to refuse to wear her gift, right in front of her.  And as for snowballs, he would do that too.  I think maybe you're confusing real Snape with LC Severus.  They are entirely different creatures, as this Severus has an entirely different background he's working from.  He does feel out of place, certainly, but is he going to ruin Harry's fun?  Nope.  Why would he, when he sees how happy Harry is?

A very very nice chapter. I didn't actually cry, but came close. Very moving.

It was wonderful to see a happy Harry and a Severus who is at peace with a son he loves and even some friends.

Author's Response: Thanks!  Which part made you almost cry?  Surely not for Sirius?  :oP  And I agree, it is nice to see Severus with some people in his life.

Oh, beautiful chapter! It was a perfect Christmas, though sad of course as Sirius is gone. I loved the flashbacks and all the gifts were absolutely right. I'll be sorry to see the end of this! So...what's next, lol?

Author's Response: Thanks Kristeh.  Well, there will be a sequel, of course.  I can't seem to let Sev and Harry go. :oP  Thanks for reviewing.  I'm happy you enjoyed it, melancholy and all.

This was great! Everything was perfect from Harry's present to Ginny to Severus getting pegged with the snowball. But what's this about there being only one chapter left? It can't end! What am I supposed to read for the rest of the semester to keep me from going batty from too much homework and boring PoliSci readings?

Author's Response: Never fear!  A sequel awaits for all those who need to get away from pesky schoolwork.  :oP  Glad you enjoyed the chapter. :o)

What a great way to end things! I really liked the baby Harry memory (though I'm pretty sure you were expecting that). I'm a surprised that Sev didn't give Sirius a bit more trust after that. Sure, he found out that Harry would be spoiled, but he didn't really get up to any mischief. I'm glad he gave him the memory--it shows that Sev has been thinking about Sirius a lot too and perhaps reevaluating his opinion of him (if it's not already reformed).

The father/son moments here were absolutely adorable. I felt so bad for Sev getting his picture taking in a Molly-sweater, lol. I also enjoyed Remus and Severus bickering in the jewelry store, double lol.

I thought for a second that Ron had signed his death warrant with that snowball. This chapter in general has really summed up how far Sev has come throughout the Lily's Charm series. Sev's accepted Remus, and even Sirius. He's become a great, caring father to Harry and he even has a sense of humor (but just a little). I can't wait to see what happens to him during the next book of LC. Do you remember that pic of Sev holding Harry's child from your board? I really hope we get to eventually see that scene play out. I'll be eagerly awaiting it.

    Author's Response:

Oh, PG!  You will be very pleased with the next installment of the LC Universe, I can tell.  :oD  That pic you're talking about is one of my favorites.  Hee hee.  And yep, I agree.  Severus certainly has come a long way. I am very excited for the sequel so he and Harry can just be dad and son.  It'll be fun.  And glad you liked the funny moments witih the sweaters and the bickering.  LOL  Remus and Severus are my favorite to write sometimes.  They've come a long way too.  Thanks for reviewing!

Tsking, soppily, and gruff-throated? Are those the words that are non-words?

Hee hee, you are brilliant enough to get away with it!

Oh, that part with Sirius and baby Harry had me with tears in my eyes; it was so beautiful.

I couldn't find any of those non-words. Hmm, I'm usually pretty observant. I guess that my emotions were so involved in the story, that I missed them.

I really hope that you are planning a third in the story, because I simply cannot imagine life without the "Lilys Charm" Universe to read!

    Author's Response:

Thanks!  I'm glad you liked it.  Keep searching, Dawn!  LOL

OMG, the whole suicide rite was an eerie twist to this chapter. Thank goodness Harry wasn't coherent enough to test the spell before leaving! I can't help but wonder why Severus is familiar with the suicide rite himself; perhaps he would have contemplated it after Lily's death. He must be feeling so relieved... I know I am!

    Great chapter!
