Reviews For Lily's Charm: The Gift
You killed the mutt. How could you kill the mutt. We just got him back. I know I badmouth Sirius but it is only because I love him and so many times, he disappoints me. Sobbing in sorrow again now.
The ironic thing about this is that I scrolled to the end before I read this to see if it was going to be a cliffie or not and I saw that someone died, so I quickly scrolled back up. I misread the name and thought you were killing off Sev at the end of this chapter. So, basically, I spent the whole chapter looking for a loophole in this which would enable Sev to come back to life. When I got to the end, I just laughed at how mistaken I was, lol. You know what, though? There could have been a loophole because with Sirius giving his life to protect someone out of love, I think history would have repeated itself and an Avada would have bounced off of Sev (which would make the lighting bolt scar a family trait). Anyway, so my predictions were totally haywire this time around. I'm glad that Sirius had this redeeming moment though. I liked how he died, protecting Sev, but not doing it for Sev. Unfortunately, this will make things even harder for Harry to deal with. Harry knows Sirius did it for him this time around--it was no accident. I think that would make it even harder, since Sirius did it so willingly and showed such great love for Harry. I kind of want to know what passed between Harry and Sev's minds right before Sirius' sacrifice. It was interesting that you chose his p.o.v. It was a lot less emotional this way, but I really liked the pacing of the battle and how everything happened so quickly. Speaking of pacing, I really liked the part where Sev was running through the forest at an incredible speed. You always hear about these people who can do miraculous feats of strength and such when in times of need and I feel like that's what happened here. While Sev is thin, I don't picture him as someone who's in great shape--the guy brews and teaches all day and would not be in shape to sprint like that. Well, I think I've kissed the idea of there being Christmas fluff goodbye, but this was very satisfying. I think Harry's anger at Sev for not allowing him to kill Bella will blow over soon enough. Poor Sev though, I don't think he's ever seen Harry that mad before. He dealt with the situation well, all things considered, though Harry's anger probably hurt him more than he let on. This was amazing. I'll leave it at that. -P.G.
Poor Harry, he just got Sirius back and now he's gone. This time forever... right? Harry's having a terrible Christmas, I mean he was kidnapped by a mad woman, seeing a slimy politician, his godfather, and the crazy lady murdered (by his father no less). Can get it any worse? Severus, oh man... you had to kill her I know. But Harry's reaction, no matter how bad you feel, you NEVER say that to a parent, no matter how bad you feel. Poor Severus! He was protecting his son, from Bella and the scars that murder leaves, but Harry doesn't get it. Instead, he gets "I hate you!" .... -sigh- Okay I've ranted enough.
I just hate Bellatrix, you know. She may be even worse than Voldie himself. She's really insane and an insane sociopath is the most dangerous type, I think. I can only imagine how Severus is feeling right now...devestated, panic-stricken, guilt-ridden even though it is in no way his fault, but he's a parent and he's going to blame himself anyway. I can't decide if I want Severus, Sirius, or Harry himself to beat Bella. Maybe all three together? I just can't wait for the next chapter!
oi, this one was really great, but i miss some more teen interactions, i mean harry is constantly around adults and they have such a major part in this story.... but this cliffi is really great....

I guess when it's Harry's safety on the line, he's not afraid to play the stern father! I just loved when Harry said "You're sending me to my room?" So shocked I guess that Snape would actually dare to punish him! Too cute you know! And you are too evil for leaving us with that cliffie! Argggh. You are such an Evil Dark, Dairy, Daring, Queen! So get working on the NEXT chapter Oh evil one! PLEASE? Author's Response: LOL Well, no, Severus was very uncomfortable, which was why he was being so careful not to yell. He barely even changed the tone of his voice throughout. And he just managed to grit out the punishment. It wasn't easy at all for him. I'm glad you enjoyed it. :o)
Best Dad Moment: “You’re….sending me to my room?” Best Bored Teenager Who's on Restriction Moment: “You wish to help me disembowel frogs?” “Not much else to do,” Harry answered with a sheepish shrug. Best Lightbulb Moment for Harry: Which is stupid really, since I’ve done loads of daft things which should have gotten me killed...and well Sirius has too, and between the two of us he did get killed and he should know better, I guess, so you’re right about not seeing him-” Best Sirius Line (and about time): “I can learn to get along with him, Harry. I will.” Best "Oh, Crap!" Moment: Bellatrix laughed, low and cold. The irony of this chapter just leaped out at me. Severus has tried to the best of his ability to make sure Harry is safe (having either him or Remus escort him places) and finally knocked some sense into Harry about taking his own personal safety seriously, and what happens? Harry is literally snatched inches away from Severus...with absolutely no way for Severus to do anything about it. Indeed, there is without a doubt complete devastion on the horizon. The demon bitch from hell is back. How many times have I said, "Can't wait for the next chapter?" Lost count by now. :-) Author's Response: The irony is indeed deep and tragic. And you can bet Bellatrix planned it that way. I'm glad you enjoyed the chapter. And thanks for pointing out all your favorite moments. :oD
oh queen of evil chiffhangers, this is horrifying. Trips to the store should be boring not scary. It looks like Severus and the mu, er Sirius will have to join forces to save Harry. That was a nice apology by Sirius, by the way. Maybe he will mature some. Author's Response: LOL With Harry, anything can go from boring to horrific in but a moment. LOL And yes, Sirius might just end up being the most mature of them all. Okay, maybe not. :o) |
