Very, very interesting. So what's going to happen now that Harry is not one of the champions? Why didn't Mad Eye (or rather, the imposter Mad Eye) know to put the right name in?
Very well written.
Author's Response: I read an essay somewhere that tried to figure out when the goblet was tampered with, and it suggested that it must have been done before the thing was displayed in such a public place... which means it was done before the school year officially began. There isn't any canon evidence, I guess, but that's what I went with. Crouch wouldn't have known Harry had changed his name until he arrived at Hogwarts, which would have been too late. In any case, it seemed like a nice twist and got rid of the Harry-the-champion plot.
The only things I feel will come out of him not being champion are (a) Cedric doesn't die, and (b) the fake Moody will have to come up with a different way to get to Harry.
