Aw, once again you've done brilliantly. I'm really loving the way you take this - you capture Harry's cluelessness perfectly. Unlike many authors who tend to portray Harry as either a complete airhead or far too Slytherin to be considered canon, you've somehow managed to transport canon Harry into an entirely non-canon situation and it's wonderfully impressive. Can't wait to see more.
Author's Response: Yes, that kind of thing has always bothered me a little...especially stories in which Harry is sorted into Slytherin and is all of a sudden an evil vindictive creep. People tend to forget, I think, how close Harry was to being in Slytherin...and that was WITHOUT displaying any of those kinds of traits. There is something in Harry's character that fits perfectly in Slytherin without him changing a thing. I hope you continue to enjoy it. I was really sick for a few days and was then subsequently swamped with work, so the next chapter has taken a while. It should be up in the next few days though. :)

Nice work!!! Do you plan to have Snape talk to harry in the next chapter? Just wondering. Again great job, and i look forward to the next update.
Hey I just wanted to review again , this time for this chapter. (i was Zeak_Morgan from the first chapter, i decided to get an account) anywhoo, i'm really liking how you are interpreting Blaise, he's going to soon become my favorite character. Also, though i'm not usually not a fan of Slytherin!Harry, i think it really fits well in this story.

What a good chapter. I was surprised at the sorting into Slytherin, but I shouldn't have been. I loved your wording -- especially the part about Harry not looking at the gift of a smile for fangs.

Author's Response: I always loved that part in OotP where Mrs. Figg was saying all these terrible proverbs modified for wizardkind. (e.g. nervous as a kneazle in a room full of rocking chairs instead of a long-tailed cat) I was kinda going for the phrase "never look a gift horse in the mouth." I'm glad you liked it...

Great job on this chapter, and it's a very interesting interpretation of Slytherin you've used. I don't think I've read many (any?) fics where Harry asks the hat about what he's learnt of the houses, but it worked well and makes sense.
Author's Response: It was that or have Blaise do it...and trust me, it sounds weird for an eleven year old to spout that stuff. And I've always kinda loved the sorting hat. It's gotta suck not getting to do much but sort and sing all year.

Oh yay! I was so happy to see a new chapter up already. Just 2 chapters in and already it looks like it is going to be a story I'll want to re-read.
Ah, I wonder though..will Snape allow himself to care about Harry willingly or fall into it kicking and screaming.
I can't wait to find out.
Good job so far. It's really grabbed my attention.
