Reviews For Growing Pains
Author's Response: yes, well, Harry's going through a jealousy stage now, but he'll start growing out of it soon enough. he's not really a jealous type.
too many kids seems to never have to learn that lesson and they are awful brats for it Author's Response: You're absolutely right, and I see the results of kids never learning that lesson everyday in B&N. It's amazing what you can learn working in that bookstore. You get all kinds of customers and see all kinds of parenting styles. Harry does have alot of adjusting to do, but I think Tobias and Severus are being more than fair, trying to divide their time between both kids and make Lexy feel welcome as well as pacifying Harry. Jealousy is a common theme when a single parent starts seeing someone again, especially if said girlfriend also has a child as well. But it's also something that can be gotten over, if handled properly.
Anyways, Harry was already sharing his dad, so Lexy only sharing her mom and getting two in the deal wouldn't seem too fair to any child unless they get the idea explained to them first ("because I said so" doesn't cut it - never did with me at any rate...) And, besides that, Grandpa has two knees - he could've shown them both how at the same time, or he could've just knelt between them and demonstrated to both - but then, most adults don't consider how their actions look to children. Oh, and the homework on Friday? If I was Sev, I would've offered Harry a choice: he could do it right then, or he could do it in place of his bedtime story, and make sure he's in bed by the same time, no exceptions. Harry probably would've jumped at doing it then (he likes his stories.) Author's Response: Actually at the end of the last chapter, Severus does tell Harry he has a special day to spend just with him whenever he's off, since Healers don't get regular days off but he did promise him that. As for the fishing trip, kids will usually argue over stuff like that, I know my three nephews did, and inevitably one of them would get in trouble for it. And Tobias did eventually get around to explaining how he still loved and always would love Harry, it just took him a little longer to realize why Harry was acting that way, since normally he behaves around his grandfather. And the homework, that was a good idea, but Sev didn't think of it.
Author's Response: Got THAT one right! LOL! Glad you're reading again, I missed your reviews!
Author's Response: Thanks!
Author's Response: Great! And thanks for all your reviews--you're awesome!
Author's Response: Ha, yeah mine too! And eventually Harry will stop being jealous of Lexy. And the baby question is one of my favorites!
i love how Tobias and Snape react to Harry's questions...it is so funny! I swear that you are nothing less than a master story teller! Author's Response: Thanks so glad you like it! I love writing Harry and Lexy, they crack me up!
I couldn't help but laugh at the reactions of the adults when Harry asked about how babies are made! When you mentioned that in the shout box, I knew it'd be good. And then Lexy, acting all smug like she knew what she was talking about, it was just to funny ^^. I love those kids, they are awesome. I think it's really sweet that Harry asked Lexy to share her mom with him, I felt like going "awwwwe!". I felt so sad when poor little Harry was talking about his mom though, and how he and Sev were very upset! Glad Harry and Lexy forgive each other after their fights, but I'm also glad you have them in the story because it makes the situations realistic. It'd be just a too perfect world if Harry didn't have normal reactions and get jealous over sharing his family all of a sudden. I think Tobias's gift for Sev is so sweet! I'm sure he’ll be touched when he sees it. And I think his nicknames for Harry and Lexy are cute too. Hmmm, I have to wonder what it’d be like if Sev and Alaina had a child. Maybe you’ll make another sequel where they have a baby? Pleeease! *puppy-dog eyes* P.S. I loved watching The Jungle Book when I was little, and Bagheera was awesome ^^. Little Inky sure has grown! It'd be quite a sight if the panther tried sitting in Sev's lap one day when Inky is full-grown, lol. Author's Response: yes, well all kids go through the jealousy stage at one time or another and Harry is no exception to the rule. Little kids tend to fight at the drop of a hat and then five minutes later are friends again. And harry really does want a mother, but he has to wait until Sev finds the right one. which I think he has. AS for a sequel . . .I don't know yet, but if Sev & Alaina do get married, I'll be sure to give Harry a new baby brother or sister. Bagheera's always been my favorite character in The Jungle Book and after him Mowgli and the wolf pack. It would be funny if Inky sat in Sev's lap now, LOL! And all kids ask the baby question sooner or later!
Author's Response: Thanks! I liked that part too, LOL! |
