Reviews For The Heir to Prince Manor
Hm, trying to teach my family 'Dragons Wild' today , but as I can't play Poker myself, the going is slow; we will succeed, but not quickly. Ah, the Washing Machine Museum, and also Amazon from usa, spell it :a 'Wringer' , not a ringer, One writes 'a dead ringer' which means 'an exact duplicate', a 19th Cent. horse-racing term. Perhaps a mistake? Silent movie heroines also 'wring' their hands. Please do keep writing these lovely stories. Deep enjoyment.
Author's Response: Yes, it was marginally better for Draco, but still pretty horrible. Harry at least has Sev now though. Me too, I want a two hour nap every afternoon at work!
Author's Response: Yes, and i'm glad he's gone too. I really hated him. And Harry had hard life but now it'll get better.
Author's Response: Yeah, Severus knows his son Draco all too well, doesn't he? He knows both of his boys and it shows, especially at the end of this chapter, when he rewards them with the nap. I have it on good authority with five teenage nephews and a niece that sleep is a teenager's number one priority, then comes eating, hanging out with friends, ect...LOL!
Author's Response: Thanks and it's okay if you don't review all the chapters. And thanks for reminding me about the shilling thing, I had forgotten to correct it. When I was writing this chapter, I had just finished reading a rather intense book about British soldiers during the American Revolution and I think part of my brain was still back there, sorry! I'm pleased you liked each one's little trip down memory lane, I felt it added more depth to their relationship, since my mother always said, you don't really know a person unless you walk a bit in their shoes. And since they voulnteered the information, rather than it being overheard or told to them by Sev, it means more.
Author's Response: Thanks, I think so too! He certainly tries not to be such a strict one, the way some writers portray him, only giving Harry punishments and no rewards. I would think that as a teacher (this is coming from a former one) Snape would know by now the value of rewarding a child for good behavior as well as punishing him when he misbehaves. A system of all punishment will eventually breed resentment and fear and the child quickly goes sour, since the only reward he's getting in to not be punished. Children need encouragement, even it's only a few words here and there, and especially Harry and Draco, who probably have rarely been praised by someone they admire. Anyway, thrilled you liked this one!
Author's Response: Thanks I really appreciate those comments. I try and imagine myself in the same room with them when I write, and I'm very astonished sometimes when I come back to myself and realize they aren't there.
Author's Response: I'm glad to hear it and I hope you enjoy what's to come, since I've a few more surprises up my sleeve!
Author's Response: Yes there's hope fro Draco yet and it helps Harry too to talk about his past. |
