It's a creature I invented, a fae cat, three inches high and seven inches long, serves as a messenger to the High Queen of the Seelie Court (the good fairies) has wings and can come in different shades and is telepathic and under a geas to speak only the truth.  The dreamweaver shimmerlings are midnight black, violet eyes, and purple and turquoise wings.  They also possess a limited teleportation ability called blinking.  Shimmelrings can live for centuries, Smidgen is over five centuries. They don't mind interacting with humans, and love children and will willingly help them, for a small price, i.e. food and shelter.

I used to be a mythology buff, and still am, which is why I enjoy writing fantasy and I have a strange vampire fic going, one of these days I'll have to email you the first few chapters and let you take a look at it, when I finish this fic and some others.
