Reviews For The Heir to Prince Manor
Author's Response: Ah the glasses. You'll find out more about that in a few chapters. Harry gets his bad eyesight from Lily's side of the family, sometimes it skips generations. Plus the glasses are a trademark of Harry's I can't really see him without them.
Author's Response: Thanks I had a lot of help with that, since I'm not up with legal stuff,a nd the only courtroom I've ever seen has been on TV.
Author's Response: Thanks so much! This chapter was rather tense for me to write. The next one won't be as gripping, but there will be plenty of tears and angst. Have you seen my new fic, Arms of A Dark Angel yet? I just posted it two days ago.
Well, I have have one quibble. In Britain, trial attorneys are called barristers and attorneys who do real estate, business and family law are called solicitors. In this case Mr. Dresden and Mr. Knave would be barristers. Also, the prosecutor is known as the King or Queen's Counsel and the wizarding equivalent could possibly be known as Minister's Counsel, I suppose. Pardon my going on about it but I have a friend who is a barrister and lived in England for six years so Americanisms in HP fics tend to stand out to me. Terminology aside, this was wonderfully written; you kept the energy and tension up through the whole chapter and I was chewing my fingernails as I waited for the jury's verdict. Again, most excellently done! Author's Response: Thanks for the info, I had no idea what legal proceedings were like over there today, I'm more familiar with British history, like during the Elizabethian era. This chapter was very tense, as it had to be, since I didn't want to ruin the dramatic effect of the verdict. The next chapter will be more angsty, with some humor thrown in to balance it out.
Author's Response: Thanks!
