Hayden's headaches are Severus trying to break through the block. You have to remember Hayden and Severus are pretty much different people with slightly different personalities.

Lily was trying to make peace, the war was scaring her and she wanted to get on a good footing with her sister incase she died, with good reason. Petunia still resents Lilly but she does love her sister. She could not not love her, but that dosn't mean she had to like her. Petunia believes that the magic world stole Lily from her - like in myth faires steal babies. But there will be more of that later.
