Reviews For Where Shadows Go
Author's Response: Yes, harry is a little bundle of mischief, like a lot of two year olds I know. And it's a good thing you're not as bad as harry or even Fred and George, LOL! Poor Sev and Lily have their hands full.
Author's Response: Harry wants one too! And hopefully he learns from this little experience.
That was priceless! poor Minerva! Severus may well need a drink. haveing children changes everything! Author's Response: It does, in more ways than one. That was my favorite line too!
Author's Response: No, she sure didn't know how to deal with a very cranky insistant toddler, LOL!
Author's Response: I'd have to say no, probably not. But Minerva especially, since she never had kids
Author's Response: Harry's a riot and I'm glad you liked Mrs. N's kittens too! I wish I had a kitten.
Can't wait to find out what happens next! Author's Response: Aww man, that sounds like something my sister used to do. She wrote her name all over the wall with a backwards J and then blamed my older sister. Drove my parents nuts! As for Harry . . .well you'll see.
I quite liked Minerva's Scottish brogue showing up so thickly. I also loved her exclamation, "Perfectly fine my clan tartan.” This is a good point for me to mention how much I appreciate that your stories are pretty much void of swearing. I really like that. There are so many other good words to use instead of profanity. I'm not talking about words such as 'bloody,' or 'arse,' or 'hell,' and the like. I'm referring to the hard-core swearing. I also like that there isn't gratuitous sex in your stories. I loved how stern Sev was with Albus, and had to almost chuckle a couple of times as Albus tried to wheedle his way out of submitting to Sev's orders. Poor Minerva -- Harry really was quite a terror for her. Oh, and poor Sev. It was cool the way you had Sev almost lose it verbally, that is, and that Minerva called him on it. With Sev’s background, I can well imagine that he’d have quite an arsenal of nasty comments ready for immediate use. I know in the other stories that he doesn’t use them, and I really like that. I liked Sev's last thoughts of the chapter, and had to chuckle at the last paragraph. Oh -- before I forget ... thank you for responding to my last review, and for letting me know this new chapter posted. Apparently, I didn't mark something right in my profile thingy, as I didn't receive an alert for the story. I am worried that I'll miss an update, and have played for almost an hour trying to figure out how to get alerts to work on this site -sigh-. Oh well ... Loved the chapter and am quite looking forward to more. Thank you. Author's Response: I love when Minerva goes all Scots on somebody, a friend of mine is Scottish and when she gets very upset or something her accent is very pronounced! It's lovely, actually.rnrnI'm not sure how the alerts work on this site, so I usually will let reviewers know if I've posted a new chapter since their last review. rnrnI think that swearing and sexual scenes, especially in this genre, are not a good idea. I can get my point across quite nicely without getting all graphic and cussing like a sailor. HP was meant for children and I want my stories to be readable for children, like ten and over, and so I don't feel the need to use bad language or sex or even graphic CP in my stories. As a reader, you can supply the "untold scenario" and I feel that such things detract from the story rather than add to it, so I'm happy you appreciate my tasteful approach. rnrnYou're right about Severus having quite a range of insults, learned from Tobias, who as a former Marine probably has quite the mouth on him, and since I want to portray him as a new parent just learning the ropes, I had him slip up in his anger and unleash his 'dark side' so to speak. But Minerva's scolding will remind him to not be so harsh with Harry in the future, since he doesn't want Harry to develop a self-confidence problem like he did. rnrnAnd I love when Sev plays stern mentor with Albus, the role reversal is such fun to write!
Author's Response: My mom says the same thing. She says that I'm going to have kids jsut like me and then she'll have her revenge and laugh about it. Thanks, Mom!
Author's Response: Yeah, i know what you mean! |
