Reviews For Where Shadows Go
My only tiny little nitpick is that Sirius's mother's name is Walburga according to the Black family tree. Great chapter. I can't wait to read more. Author's Response: I know, but this is AU, so I made her name Casseopia, after the constellation of the queen in Greek myths, the one who sacrificed her daughter to the Kraken. It just seemed to fit somehow, the cold pureblood woman who doesn't care for her eldest son because he won't fit into the role she designed for him. I have no clue what Remus's parents were called so I named them John and Belinda, and it was the same with the Evanses. I should have the Weasleys come into this one a bit later on, like after Lily and Sev marry, then Harry will be old enough to have play dates and such. I might even do Sev delivering Ginny, and Christmas with the Evans.
Ron he is so cute, my little sister did the same thing except it was beans and like Sev the doctor was accustomed to handling such things, but unlike Mrs Weasley who was calm my mother was in a panic Author's Response: Yes, there is still that insecure teenager inside the Master Healer, a legacy of the abuse he suffered at the hands of Tobias. The cinnamon bun fight is very typical of brothers, my nephews fight like that all the time over them when they're together. I'll be having some Sev and Lily stories soon, probably in the next chapter, they have some equally funny ones about them and Petunia. As for Molly and Ron, the bean thing is something my sister did also, and she's now a doctor, LOL! She also drank perfume and ate baby asprins. Molly is so calm because she's probably gone through so many situations after six kids that it's old hat to her. I doubt if my mother was half as calm.
Author's Response: Thanks and hopefully you'll enjoy the next one too.
great chapter Author's Response: They are all very like brothers, the joke around with each other and laugh but they are also are there for each other when they need to be.
Author's Response: Isn't he just? And wait till he gets together with harry in a later chapter. Sev will manage to get over his insecurity eventually, with Lily's help. And remus and Sirius are indeed like brothers, they all are.
And then there is Sev. Poor man, he really has some serious self-esteem issues, doesn't he? Well, Lily will get those cleared up pretty darn quick, I suspect. I loved the entire conversation and argument at the bachelor's dinner party and just thinking about Molly's cinnamon buns has me looking at the clock and groaning because there isn't anywhere within a reasonable distance that is open at this hour that has really good cinnamon buns. I know what I'm having for breakfast tomorrow.... Excellently done (as usual!) Author's Response: Oh boy! looks like that's a favorite of a lot of children, including my sister and my nephew. Only they shoved beads and a penny up their nose, LOL! And yes, Sev's self-esteem is quite damaged, both from Tobias and from playing second fiddle to James. Lily will be able to help him a lot with that, however. And now I'm hungry for cinnamon buns too! Argghh!
Author's Response: My sister did that too, I don't know why. That's where I got the idea from. Isn't it hilarious?
Author's Response: Not all Slytherins are like the Malfoys who live to take advantage of people. Severus is a Healer and has a code of ethics he has to follow, plus Molly is his friend and Severus comes from a poor background and knows what it's like to be starving and struggle to make ends meet, so he refuses to take advantage of his patients. Plenty of doctors do clinic work, where they treat patients without health insurance for almost nothing, and that is what Severus is doing here. That's not to say that he doesn't charge his other patients a normal fee. As for his romance with Lily, remus and Sirius already know about him being in love with Lily, it's not a secret to them, they were there when Sev was dating her. He would have no real reason to hide that from his friends, especially when he's desperate for help from someone, and he's not been in love with Lily for decades, only a few years, he's only twenty-one here, though he'll turn twenty-two in January. This Severus is not the hard-bitten spy, but a tormented Healer scarred by emotional and physical abuse, so he doesn't behave like canon Snape at all.
Author's Response: Thanks and Ron will continue to show up in here, especially as Harry gets old enough to play with him as a friend.
Author's Response: Thanks and you'll see Sev's reaction to Remus and Sirius's little bit sof advice in the next chapter. |
