I love that Severus gave Harry’s dorm mates a talking to, but knew where to draw the line with regards to points. As for the chapter end, what happened to Gryffindor loyalty?!

Honestly, how have I not reviewed yet? Guess I just raced through this wonderful story!

I'm absolutely in love with the manner in which this fic is progressing - I love the character development and the subtle (and not so subtle) differences from a traditional Severitus fic. I think that the way this is written and the manner in which this is progressing is at perfect pace.

And then I looked up at the list of future chapters and realized I'm only about 1/3 done with this gem! Honestly, CoS is one of my favourites of the series and I cannot wait to see how this moves forward.

/some childish part of me is hoping Harry gets a snake familiar of his own, but then again that's something I'm always wishing for/

Looks like Harry will have tough times ahead.

Author's Response: Yep, "treated" is a euphemism for pissed on the bed.

Harry should get Sev to teach him a cleaning spell if pranks like those continue.

    oh ew! schoolboy pranks... nasty.

i don't think "spurious" fits where you've used it - ""Yeah, surprising, huh?r1; he said at Neviller17;s spurious glance." "spurious" = "false" or "fake". something like "skeptical" would work better.

    Author's Response:

Spurious can also mean Doubtful, which is the definition I chose here. I don't necessarily go with the most common uses of words; I like to have my readers dig for meanings - expands their vocabulary. But glad to see someone is thinking! ;-)

Way to go Hermione! I was so proud of her! And Draco too, for going to support Harry. Ron really needs to get his priorities straight and grow up. I was glad Severus talked to Harry about friendship and also getting Neville a tutor. I know what it's like being compared to an older brother or sister when it comes to schoolwork, though none of them could touch me when it came to English. Math, except for algebra, was another story . . .

Anyway, great job here and I'm looking forward to seeing more of Severus teaching potions and will we get to see how the Slytherins react with Draco?

Author's Response: I love Hermione - definitely my alter ego. As for Draco? Oh, possibly...
