Wow...what a chapter. You right with incredible detail, but some how, you manage not to over do it. I was thoroughly absorbed in this chapter. The trial! Vernon was completely vicious! Ick!
I did want to point out one thing kind of...
erm, Petunia was given the punishment of 11 long years in azckaban. 11 long years of reliving the worse moments of her life every single day over and over again, which include (but is not limited to) her sister leaving home to go to Hogwarts, leaving her a lonely Muggle and her sister dying. And, as soon as the 11 years are up, and she can finally be somewhat happy again, she get's the worse punishment possible (supposedly), which is the dementor's kiss.
But, vicious awful Vernon immediately gets death? It may be because i'm all super con-capital punishment and stuff, but I think that is truly the easy way out. I think he should have gone to Azckaban too, to really get his punishment in before he died. But like I said, I am extremely con-death penalty, even in the case of my own little ghost that haunt me, so that may be why I feel like Vernon shouldn't have been kissed, then killed. It just seemed to easy for him.
I'm really glad you made it so Dudley got off. I just hope St. Brutus' doesn't make him even tougher and gang bang-ish.
I analyze stories wayyyy too much...sorry. But at least you get to read and be entertained by my unnecessarily long reviews!
awww Harry i am glad he has a family who loves him a family that includes Mrs. Weasly and Mr. Weasley and at this time the weasleys minus Ron.

I feel kind of bad for the Dursleys... Well maybe not Vernon,he deserved that, but mostly Dudley because now he's mostly going to be like an orphan. And Petunia is good as dead anyway since she's in azkaban for eleven years and then kissed. This story is awesome. :)
Author's Response: While we probably will never see it, Dudley will get a competent counselor to help him, someone familiar with both aspects of his life - but most likely not Whitney - conflict of interest. Thank you for the review, I'll be posting the next one in a couple of days. Peace, Zara.

Good chapter, although, I am confused how Petunia could possibly have managed to miss all of the abuse. Denial that deep is pretty close to insanity. Also, isn't death a bit harsh of a penalty? I liked the symmetry of 11 years of Azkaban for 11 years of neglect, that would have been fine right there.
Evil evil Vernon! I hope he's roastimg in hell. And the same goes for Petunia. Poor Harry, the victim of such wicked creatures! Good thing Severus was there to comfort Harry and hold him, and hopefully Harry will be able to get some closure now that Vernon is dead. I was surprised Harry didn't cry when he found out the fat b****was gone, not from grief, but relief that his tormentor was gone and he was free from his shadow. I was very happy he was dead. Great job.
Author's Response: I think Harry was too stunned and numb to cry that evening. At least that is my take on it. He hasn't really processed that part of it yet. Thanks for the reviews!
Thanks for not holding the second half of hte trial up. This was heartwrenching in the extreme but the Dursleys definitely got what was coming to them. I'm (like Severus) just sorry that Harry had to be in the same room as that monster Vernon. But with the people who really love him and are his real family I'm certain that Harry will get better. I'm absolutely tickled about how the brotherly relationship has developed between Harry and Draco. And Sev is a fabulous Dad.

Yikes, that was a draining chapter. Poor Harry. But Severus wil be there to pick up the peices!
I hope that there is a little bit of happiness in store for Harry from now on. That chapter had me ready to reach for the box of tissues; I think we need a bit of sweetness and fluff in the NEXT chapter, just for a little break!
im so glad you didnt make us wait and put out the 2 chapters together! i was looking forward to these chapters and wasnt disapointed, the trial was really well written! poor harry having to hear that he was never wanted or loved, im glad he has sev and draco now :)
