Good chapter, although, I am confused how Petunia could possibly have managed to miss all of the abuse. Denial that deep is pretty close to insanity. Also, isn't death a bit harsh of a penalty? I liked the symmetry of 11 years of Azkaban for 11 years of neglect, that would have been fine right there.
Evil evil Vernon! I hope he's roastimg in hell. And the same goes for Petunia. Poor Harry, the victim of such wicked creatures! Good thing Severus was there to comfort Harry and hold him, and hopefully Harry will be able to get some closure now that Vernon is dead. I was surprised Harry didn't cry when he found out the fat b****was gone, not from grief, but relief that his tormentor was gone and he was free from his shadow. I was very happy he was dead. Great job.
Author's Response: I think Harry was too stunned and numb to cry that evening. At least that is my take on it. He hasn't really processed that part of it yet. Thanks for the reviews!
read this earlier today but didn't have time to review since I was going shopping, but I really loved the way you captured Harry's emotions, how awful it was for him to be in the courtroom and have to relive all the abuse. I loved Severus being so protective and Draco also. Moly was great, I laughed at the spoon reference, since that is typically Molly and I think Ron better get his act together before Molly comes after him. On to the next part.
Thanks for not holding the second half of hte trial up. This was heartwrenching in the extreme but the Dursleys definitely got what was coming to them. I'm (like Severus) just sorry that Harry had to be in the same room as that monster Vernon. But with the people who really love him and are his real family I'm certain that Harry will get better. I'm absolutely tickled about how the brotherly relationship has developed between Harry and Draco. And Sev is a fabulous Dad.

Yikes, that was a draining chapter. Poor Harry. But Severus wil be there to pick up the peices!
I hope that there is a little bit of happiness in store for Harry from now on. That chapter had me ready to reach for the box of tissues; I think we need a bit of sweetness and fluff in the NEXT chapter, just for a little break!
im so glad you didnt make us wait and put out the 2 chapters together! i was looking forward to these chapters and wasnt disapointed, the trial was really well written! poor harry having to hear that he was never wanted or loved, im glad he has sev and draco now :)

Aww, that was a real breakthrough for Harry, letting Severus comfort him that way. The poem was wonderful, it was very moving, and it fits both boys very well. I'm happy to see them finally becoming brothers and the last part with Harry's mind techniques was very interesting. I know it will be hard for him to face the Dursleys, but once he has done so, perhaps he can get some kind of closure. Update soon!
The poem was awesome and so was the chapter. I really liked how you showed Harry trusting his father enough to talk to him about Vernon and to cry on his shoulder. Can't wait to see the Dursleys get theirs. I always thought they got away with child abuse in the books.
