Another good example of where Harry was put in harm's way deliberately. Fortunately you've given him a guardian angel here to protect him.
Author's Response: Yes, exactly. And Severus will be keeping a rather close eye on him for now.
I really liked the way you described Harry flying, and Severus' reaction. My only question is with regards to his eyesight; if it's so bad, how did he catch the Snitch and Neville's Remembrall. Is his magic automatically compensating by improving other senses or giving him a sixth sense that works like sonar, or is it something else?
Author's Response: His magic is compensating for him, also Sev made the Snitch glow so that he could see it at night, and the Remembrall was caught by reflex, Harry has unusually good reflexes.

that was cute! I can't imagine snape being into flying, and I would have thought harry would have more questions about his parents, but otherwise i like the chapter :)
Author's Response: He does have more questions, but Severus wasn't answering them and he did want to fly, so he decided to save them for later. There will be other times when Harry brings up questions about Lily and James and Severus will answer them then. As for Sev flying, he might not play Quidditch, but he knows how to fly from refereeing the game and though he's not a flying nut, he can still teach Harry a few things. Though eventually Harry will be able to outfly him because of natural talent.

Author's Response: Thanks so much! Hope you like where this is going! I've decided to make it longer than I originally intended.
I always thought that the idea of Harry playing when he was a first year was a bad idea. He should have spending his time learning about magic and the magical world and not worrying about people trying to knock him off his broomstick.
Author's Response: Exactly. Look at how many times the kid got injured playing Quidditch. That's why Sev's so dead set against it, but unfortunately he can't do much except try his best to make sure Harry is safe. Which is going to be very very hard.
