Reviews For Arms of a Dark Angel
a good chapter, although the little bit of preaching detracts from the characterization, in my opinion. jkr (and most fanfic) has consistently portrayed snape as sarcastic, intelligent, iconoclastic, and cynical, and iconoclasticism and cynicism don't usually coincide with devout professions of christian belief. but, it's your fic, and if you think you can can believably portray snape as a christian, go for it. Author's Response: That's Harry in the last line, he's thinking of himself as a worthless impudent whelp, undeserving of being a son to anyone. I admit that it may seem odd to see Snape giving a lecture on forgiveness and bringing Christ into it, but he's not all he seems. One facet is his cynicism and sarcastic side and the other part, the secret part, is the man who desires above all to be forgiven for the sins he committed in the past. He might not go to church, but he believes firmly in the tenets of forgiveness and redemption, for he is a living example of them, Lily forgave him before she was killed, and asked him to watch over Harry and that made a huge difference, you'll learn more about that in a future chapter.
Author's Response: Thanks, I try to make my fics different from the norm.
Author's Response: Thanks. I figured then was a good time to bring up Lily, and soon Severus and harry will have a long discussion about her, since Severus can now bear to talk about her and how her love changed him.
Author's Response: I totally agree thanks!
Author's Response: Well, you'll have to wait and see. Tabasco sauce-ugh! There's some action up next!
Author's Response: Me too! LOL! Hugs are always good!
Author's Response: Yup, Ron is quite a character. Glad you found the punishment fair, I know some didn't, but oh well, it's my story.
Author's Response: Severus here is behaving like a real dad would after punishing his child, though Harry doesn't realize it yet since he's never had a real dad. Their relationship will continue to grow, though not without some more misunderstandings etc along the way.
Author's Response: You're very welcome. I feel that forgiveness and redemption are good things for everyone to read about, that's why I love Severus, for he is the redeemed hero and shows that even if you screw up, you can always go and do the right thing and be forgiven.
Oh no, Draco again? Little troublemaker!! Better keep your temper Harry; God knows what Snape will do if you lose it again!! Author's Response: Yes it did burn a little like a hot pepper, but once he rinsed his mouth out, it stopped. And yes, draco strikes again. Hopefully Harry will be able to control himself. |
