I wish I had it as well. Sounds less risky than laser, eh? I'm scared to get THAT surgery, as I personally know someone (a good friend of my mother's) who is virtually blind as a result of having had it. I know if it's done correctly, it works great--I also know folks who have had successful surgeries, but the thought of the alternative just leaves me cold. I'd rather continue with my sucky vision than not be able to see at all!!!
Author's Response: Yes, I agree with you 100% i refuse to get it done because I can only really see out of one eye and if it gets damaged, I'm finished. So glasses are safer for me. But I wanted Harry to have the chance I never could so . . .there you go.

Very clever of Severus to think up this Uncle Toby. I'm wondering though, how he's getting it past Dumbledore. I really doubt that D. would let just any old grownup show up at Hogwarts claiming to be a relative and whisk Harry away.
Also, it bothers me a bit that Severus calls Harry "boy" when they're training... seems very reminiscent of Vernon.
Author's Response: Sev is very sneaky, and Dumbledore was rather busy over break and didn't really pay all that much attention to Harry, once the surgery was done and all, it would be too late to meet Uncle Toby. As for Sev calling him 'boy', it was deliberate goad, to make harry pay attention, he was being hard on him on purpose, much like a drill sergeant.

I've been busy, so haven't had the chance to read for a while, and then when I checked there were three new chapters :D I really like the bits about Percy you include; it's nice seeing him as more of a big brother character, and someone who used to be more like Fred and George. I really like the alias Severus is using, and the idea of him givng the eye surgery to Harry for Christmas is a great one.
Author's Response: I like casting Percy as a big brother who is kind of stuck up because of his new postion as prefect, but who used to be just as mischievous as fred & george once upon a time. Sev's alias took me awhile to come up with. I always felt something should have been done to correct harry's vision, it's a real liability when he has to fight dark wizards, all they have to do is destroy his glasses and he's helpless. Plus, it made a good unique gift for Sev to give him.

Wow! That was some Christmas present Snape gave Harry! It shows just how much the guy loves him too! And the clothes were great and so was Harry's present to Severus. Gingerbreads are my favorite cookie...mmmm! Update soon!
Author's Response: They're one of mine too. And yes, it does show just how much Snape loves Harry, that surgery is not cheap. And it's the sort of thing a parent would do for a child.

What a brilliant chapter! I loved how Severus is both firm and loving with Harry, and the comment about the Galleon tree was great. LOL! I also like McGonagall scolding R &D for fighting, and Severus's gift to Harry was beautiful! Wish I could have that surgery.
