Who knew? I hadn't expected this one to be so long - you DID write a longer story! Thanks a lot, I'm really enjoying this. It seems a lot more realistic a progression than a lot of Snape-potter mentor fics.

OK - I am so hooked on this story this is my third reread here (I am also keeping up with newer chapters on Fanfiction!) My absolute favorite fanfic scenario is the snarky Potions Master eventually mentoring/fathering a young Harry, and your story is such a wonderful example of this! I loved Dumbledore (the old coot, I agree!) manuevering Snape into taking on the "slight" task of guardianship of the Brat Who Lived!
