Oooooooh, I hate it when Snape and Harry meet in these stories, and Snape gets it right away, and everything gets all mushy and sweet and understanding (not how it would happen) but oh, this just prolongs the agony! I just want to throttle him and say "you blind idiot, why can't you just see what's right in front of your gigantic nose?"

Great chapter, great story, and please post soon again! I can't wait for more, even if it just torments me more.

Author's Response: I hate those fluffy stories, too. I rarely read Snape/Harry guardian stories anyway, but when I first got into fanfic, I caught a glimpse of some. Completely by accident, of course. :o) Nope, Snape will be stupid for a number of chapters, and at no point will he go soft, fluffy, or any such adjective. It's nice to have a handful of masochistic reviewers who support that course of events. Thanks for reviewing!

    Another great chapter!

Although I certainly hope you won't make us wait as long for the next one!

Author's Response: I had some serious writer's block here, which I hope won't be the case in the future. Thanks for reviewing!

    Christ! Snape is effing BLIND!!!

Does he not realize that there were TWO boys living in that house?
If that was supposed to be Harry's bedroom (not) then where was Dudley's?

Snape is SUPPOSED to be INTELLIGENT!

Author's Response: Well, the bedroom Snape thought to be Harry's was Dudley's 'toy room', so it was a pretty logical conclusion (why would one boy have two bedrooms, after all?) I imagine Dudley was always getting clothes and presents that never got used, so Snape must have assumed the ones in the junk room were Harry's (too big, but bought with the idea that he'd grow into them). Growing up, I always had piles of clothes to "grow into" . . . five years later when they weren't remotely in style anymore. :o) Thanks for reviewing!

    Good chapter. Keep it up.

Author's Response: I'm glad you enjoyed it. Working on the next one now. ;o)

I find it odd Snape didn't at least notice the lack of clothing in Harry's size.

On the other hand he would definitely believe the broken toys, lies, and bad behavior the Dursleys told him about.

However, it seemed like a disconnect for me since his mission was to find Harry's clothing and he came back with nothing. Were the clothes bought to cover the fact that Harry had none? I think I'm as confused as Harry now.

Very good story though. I think I might wait until a little more is written to continue reading so that I don't have all these unanswered questions.

    Thanks!

    Author's Response:

Thanks for the review! Having grown up with more clothing to "grow into" than that which actually fit, I'm having Snape assume that the few brand-new clothes were for later, while the used clothing had been donated. And he did bring some back, I think; still trying to decide. Those questions, at least, should be answered next chapter. So I can find new, inventive ways to confuse! Mwahahaha!

Oh wow! I guess that we've all gotten used to a compassionate Snape and we forget how cruel he was in Canon. I do hope that in this story he eventually softens up at least a bit!

You portray the characters very well though. Nicely done.

Author's Response: Fanon Snape is pretty much a whole new character from his canon counterpart, that's for sure. :o) He'll never get fluffy, but it won't be this way forever. I'm glad you're enjoying it, and thanks for reviewing!

Hmm... That is interesting turn of events. I didn't except this.
I have question: Will Snape find out about Harry's treatment at Dursleys?

Author's Response: He will, it'll just take a while. After all, he had his suspicions, which have now been confirmed by Marge and bolstered by Noddy, so he has no reason to suspect anything's off about the whole affair. He'll never believe a word Harry says unless something happens. What will happen? Not telling. :o) But you know me; it'll come out of nowhere. Thanks for reviewing!
