Reviews For The Seven Year Snitch
Author's Response: His call is still pretty far in the future, so he'll be a git for a bit longer. Thanks for the review!
Author's Response: Severus, surprised? Admitting he's wrong? Surely you jest . . . Thanks for the review!
Speaking of which, I do like that Snape doesn't, really. He's what might be euphemistically termed expressive - ie, throws screaming fits over matters of small or large importance - and that's completely in-character here. I'm not sure if Noddy is nasty so much as just psycho. It seems a common house-elf trait. I have to admit, however, that since canon!Harry says outright that “long experience had taught him to remain out of arm’s reach of his uncle whenever possible" - and we actually see Vernon throttling him, Petunia swinging a frying pan at his head - I'm not sure how they don't qualify as physically abusive. Are we to assume that these Dursleys hadn't got around to that much by the time they died? Author's Response: Snape's kind of like the immortal children in "Twilight"; he never emotionally matured past a certain age. :o) And I think the house-elves are a little insane by definition, like hyenas or something. This one is bitter, more so than, say, Dobby, and resentful. I don't know if he has any redeeming features yet. :o) I guess the Dursleys were physically abusive at that, but this story won't be detailing the thrice-daily beatings he suffers in much of fanon. He was emotionally abused and neglected, however, but Snape thinks that if he feeds him enough (he doesn't know about the extra missed meals) and gives him a bed, that's enough. We'll try to make him see that Harry needs more. Thanks for reviewing!
However, I have to say that I loved this chapter so I forgive you. I can't pick out a favourite bit! Severus' daydream, Albus laying down the law, Severus' latest altercation with Harry... they're all brilliant and make me want more. Great update! Author's Response: Thanks for reviewing; I'm glad you liked it! I finally overcame the writer's block for a fifth chapter, but it's only dragging out the agony. :o( Can't write a nice Sev to save my life.
Author's Response: Thanks for the review! Don't underestimate Snape's stupidity or Noddy's clumsiness. :o) Neither of them will be changing their spots for some time to come.
Author's Response: Thanks very much for reviewing! Snape will be in the dark for some time, unfortunately. There's book-smart and there's commonsense-smart - guess which one Snape is? :o)
Author's Response: Oh, I'm sure he will eventually; there's just a lot of James-hate to work through first. Thanks for reviewing!
Author's Response: I'm not sure what'll be going through his head, which is unfortunate, as I'll one day have to write it. :o) Thanks for the review!
Author's Response: He's pretty much got Uncle Vernon and Aunt Petunia combined into Snape, and Noddy acting as Dudley. Talk about the devil you know versus the one you don't, right? Thanks for the review!
Author's Response: Glad you liked it! |
