Reviews For The Seven Year Snitch
It's also a nice change to see Harry somewhat mistreated but not as horribly and blatantly mistreated as you can see in so many fanfics. Mila Author's Response: When you put it that way, Dumbledore reminds me of a few people I know! Only they're not as smart. :o) I've abused Harry enough, so this time I decided to cut him a break . . . Snape will be mean for a while, though. Thanks for reviewing!
Author's Response: Thanks for reviewing; I'm amazed at how many people like this! An update is coming soon, I promise.
Author's Response: Dumbledore strikes me as one of those who's always nice as long as you do things his way. Thanks for reviewing!
Author's Response: Thanks for your compliments; with the awesome response this story has gotten, I'm sure an update will be coming soon!
I love that you explained so thoroughly Dumbledore's reasoning for choosing Severus as Harry's guardian. Every scene was perfectly paced and enjoyable to read. Snape's annoyance--his brushing off-- of Harry's hesitancy or his slight attitude makes complete sense. I can't imagine Snape having any interest in being a disciplinarian right off the bat. He expects everyone to obey him without question and that's what he's used to. He wouldn't waste his time focusing on petty issues like Harry's belongings. His "take it or leave it" attitude is very like canon!Snape. I found this line particularly brilliant: "Scrooge liked darkness because it was cheap, as are all things common; Severus Snape liked it because it was dear, hard to come by." Thank you for taking such care with this first installment of your story. I hope you write quickly, because I'm hooked already. Author's Response: Thanks for the long review! As much as I love writing the abused Harry - one's going up on the Pit today, in fact - so I can cuddle him, I'm the first one to admit that it's fanon, not canon. The Dursleys were neglectful and emotionally abusive, and I'm sure Vernon may have cuffed him once or twice, but that's about as far as it went. I got the bacon thing from my mother's dogs; one won't even touch her bone until the other one wants it. Anyone else would have wondered why Harry only had one bag of things, but you're right when you say that Snape probably couldn't care less. Dumbledore often comes across as insensitive because he wouldn't let Harry stay with someone nice like the Weasleys, but I guess being comfortable doesn't help if he's dead. I hope people aren't alienated by my Snape, because he's going to be mean for a while. And he'll never be fluffy, but they'll eventually get past this stage. Thanks for your comments!
Author's Response: Well, I'm glad I "converted" you to young Harry! :o) I've always liked reading about him getting out from under the Dursleys, though I prefer Sirius over Snape. Thanks for your comments!
Author's Response: I'm glad you liked it, and thanks for reviewing!
Author's Response: I think Snape did that a lot in canon - that is, bait Harry for the fun of it - and they're going to be at odds for a while, but they'll start getting along eventually. Thanks for reviewing!
i absoultely love it and im not one for kidfics this is great you have a good voice through out! keep it up! and update soon! Author's Response: Thanks for your comments! I never thought I could write Snape as Harry's guardian, but the muse doesn't really care about my preferences. I'm glad you liked it!
Author's Response: Thanks for reviewing; I appreciate the compliment! |
