Lol, Harry already knows Snape is a pushover. I think you should continue this world because Harry would be a Slytherin when he was sorted! After all, Harry would have no qualms about his godfather's house and would want to be there to avoid Minerva's punishments.

I love the way Harry and the snake interact - the snake'd probably never met a child before, and then it ran up against Harry. Favourite line in this chapter has got to be:
“Don’t you call me names, you bad BAD snakey!”
He sounds just like a little kid scolding Teddy for doing the wrong thing XD

Great chapter! I loved Harry and the Basilisk fighting! :) Looking forward to more stories in this series.
