Reviews For The Christmas Cobra
Author's Response: Thank you, sensible!Harry is one of my favourites. I might do a followup next year, I shall have to see how my other two WIPs are going!
I love Harry the snake, and Snape covered in snow! I'd love to see that. Aw...too bad it was the end. That would make a great longer story! Author's Response: Why, thank you! If only I could draw better - Sev covered head to foot in snow would be one of the first things I would do. Funny you should say that, I was thinking about possibly doing another oneshot on this next year some time... Ah! we shall see.
I like snakes, all animals pretty much, though I'd be a bit wary of the venomous ones. I loved Harry's Animagus form though . . .and how you described how the poor thing was freezing and the way a snake hunts. My nephew has a very sweet ball python and I;ve seen him hunt the small pinkies in his terrarium, he's very fast, though after he's eaten he likes to curl up in a ball and sit on your wrist, though once he wrapped himself in my hair . . .LOL! Good thing I'm not afraid of snakes . . . The Christmas presents and the snowball fight were funny too . . .Severus covered in snow . . .mmm! Author's Response: Thank you! I thought Harry being a venomous snake would be rather appropriate - small but deadly, and then there's the Parseltongue thing. I've seen pictures of ball pythons and they do look wonderful. lol, for the hair, I hope you did manage to get him out again soon after! I'd love to see Sev covered in snow too... if only I was a better artist!
Author's Response: Thank you very much - that's great to hear! The first time I saw a pic of a Spectacled Cobra, I thought 'Harry' and I'm really glad I finally managed to write this story. That's my fav line too and a very 'Severus' thing to say, I think!
You should write more with this! It has great potential! I love your description of Harry as a snake. You should have Snape try as well! Would he be a snake or warmblooded? Hmm... ponder, I ponder. Thanks so much for this wonderful tidbit. Yours, Lady Julie Snape. Author's Response: Thank you very much! I must admit, I was tempted to continue with this... maybe I'll write more next year. Of course, I can't decide whether to make Severus a black mamba or a warm blooded creature. Black mambas creep me out, but I think it's a rather perfect animal for Severus. I don't know, we shall see!
Author's Response: Thank you very much - I'm glad you enjoyed my story despite that! It's great to hear that you thought it worked out!
“Yes, yes, you are the expert killing machine etcetera, etcetera and I am amazed by your singular skill. Now would you mind going back to sleep while I go and mark the incompetent children’s essays?” You might want to slip some of the exposition in the first few paragraphs into the rest of the story to start it off faster. Author's Response: I'm glad to hear it - I agree with you, Snape does seem the kind to be more comfortable with animals. I shall bear your advice in mind for future fics - I do have a bad habit of explaining it all straight away! Thanks for reviewing!
Author's Response: Thank you - I'm glad you found it amusing!
I also really liked the line "In ways, the man before him was the king snake of them all and it would not do to anger him." Author's Response: Don't worry - I can't remember the quote myself now! I'd love to know what Severus would be like as a snake... black mamba, maybe?
Author's Response: Thank you! It was fun writing this and it's great to hear that you enjoyed it! |
