Reviews For Snow Girl & the Sorcerer's Son
I love DD's conversation with Throckmorton! Yikes, what a mouthful THAT name is! Author's Response: yes, Filch has a different side to him here, because he understands where Holly is coming from and she isn't interested in pranking him like some of the other students. Isn't it though? Found that name in an old book on British history.
Well, just wanted to make sure that dear old Dumbledore with all his openmindedness wasn't prejudiced against Germans after all... ;-) Author's Response: Sorry about that, I meant to change that line earlier and thought I had. No, Dumbledore has nothing against Germany, he has a thing against Throckmorton and his continued nastiness towards everyone who isn't a pureblood. Actually, I'm not sure where Durmstrang is, someone informed me it might be from Germany, which was why I originally had that in there. Again no offense and I have since changed that sentence. I decided to leave Durmstrang's whereabouts unknown, let the reader imagine it. Thanks for reading!
I really liked how you gave Filch's thoughts while Holly was speaking to show how he reacted to what she said. Very clever! I want to see Narcissa go off on Lucius, please! Author's Response: Fires him, well he just might, if something else doesn't happen to him first. Glad you liked Filch, this is the first time I'm writing him. And you'll see Narcissa in action next chapter!
Author's Response: She's gonna tear strips off of her husband. I'm glad you like my proactive Dumbledore, he's not one you'd want to cross.
Author's Response: You'll find out, don't worry. I'm in the middle of fleshing out her response.
I really liked Filch and Holly's interaction and the way you wrote his good side. Seems he felt inclined to act kinder to Holly as not only was she pleasant, but they share similar hardships. I really think Filch would behave more openly if he were treated with more respect, and I’m glad Holly could make a sort of friendship with him. (the memories you created of his seemed likely occurrences too, btw) I think it'd be nice if Holly took to his suggestion and got a cat, not only are they my favorite animal, but she could do to have a constant companion in her life :) Next chapter sounds to be quite an interesting turn of events, seems Lucius is going to get an earful from his wife, hehe. Author's Response: Oh, yes, Throckmorton will be wary . . .for now. But beware, he's sneaky! I think Filch is so bitter because he was treated like a second class citizen for so long, and no one really respects him, except Sev & Dumbledore. And Holly has a sort of empathy with him because she was in a similar situation and it helps tyo have someone understand exactly what you've been through. I agree about the cat, and perhaps she can convince Severus to get her one soon. Lucius is going to get the shock of his life when narcissa finds out just what he's been up to!
And the part with Holly and Filch was great too. I felt bad for Albus, losing his family that way. Can't wait to see what narcissa says to Lucius! Author's Response: Thanks! i agree, poor Albus! Narcissa is going to have MANY things to say about Lucius.
I always felt sorry for Argus. Close enough to see what the others have but not to touch it. Like a bird knowing there is something called flying and having a bit of the instinct for it, but not being able to do it. Add the students being nasty to him, and you have a real sad, sad person. Sic em, Narcissa (divorce Lucius and marry Severus - you will be much happier and Draco won't be a monster) Author's Response: Throckmorton is not quite as stupid as he seems, but he will eventually do something to bring the wrath of Dumbledore down on his head . . . I always felt bad for Filch too, hopefully here I've given him a new lease on life. As for Narcissa, she'll be going on the warpath, believe me.
Author's Response: I will and as for Draco, well, we'll see what happens. |
