Yay! an update! Yay another on coming soon after! I'm a little sad it will be the last chapter though...I really like this story...will you be writing a sequel or starting another story?
Author's Response: I'm not sure about a sequel. I honestly don't know how I could torture poor Harry again without severely putting off my readers, and because I pretty much only would write angst, I think it would push people away to see Harry go through something terrible again considering what I've already done to him. More tissues needed with this one too! Very emotional chapter but now we have understanding between Severus and Harry and of course love. The end of this chapter was great with Severus telling Harry that he would not give him up for anything.
Oh crap, I am crying again, I'm such a sap. This was great, I actually screamed "no" when Della interupped Severus the 1st time he was going to tell Harry he loved him and then when he finally said it, I started to cry again. I think I have gone thought a whole box of tissues since the 1st chapter. 2 more chapters to go and I am caught up!

I don't think I mentioned it before but I really do like Della and I think the conversation between her and Harry was great. I think she did a very good job of trying to explain to Harry about trusting someone, in this case Severus, in order to start healing. But as seen at the end of this chapter, it is still a long way to go. Next chapter here I come.
I could not image having nightmares like the ones you describe here that Harry is reliving everynight in his dreams brought about by his abuse by Craig. I do however remember when I was little and how I had night terrors. To be totally trapped in a terror and not being able to wake up until your own screams wake you up.
I loved how sensitive Severus was with Harry and how he massaged the knots out of Harry's back to get him to sleep. It was a parent thing to do. Funny, I remember my Mom rubbing my back to get me to sleep when I was little. I loved that whole part of this chapter.
Two of my favorite lines in this chapter: "Twelve years old or not, sometimes you just needed a nightlight." and "Thirty seven years old or not, sometimes you just needed a nightlight" -- Lovely.

Another great chapter and as with any road to recovery, there is always ups and downs. I really like that you didn't just make everything ok. I have seen other stories where something horrible happens and then within a chapter or two everything is worked out and everything is fine. It doesn't work like that esp. not when dealing with abuse in any shape. Well done.
I read your end of note and I am sorry that you had to go through a horrible experience of harrassment yourself. As I am catching up with your story, I am hoping this was a while ago and is no longer a problem for you. Now, onto the next chapter.

There's nothing worse than reading some really well written angst and finding out in the next chapter that Harry's calling Snape 'Dad'. Winston Churchill said "if you're going through hell, keep on going" and I add because eventually you will find your self coming through it and can then only go up from there. I am hoping that Harry and Severus are now on the upswing from Hell. Well done.
I could never stand Fudge and you have made me even hate him more. I thought he was pathetic in the books and no backbone. But here, I just want to AK the sob and Craig too for what he has done to Harry. OMG, this poor kid. I can't wait to read the next chapter. Here I go...

You should be very happy with this chapter, it kept me on the edge of my seat reading. I read it so fast I had to go back and read it again. Excellent chapter. I am now wondering was it Craig and Ernie together to get Harry away from Severus? Craig said he knew a powerful wizard..I don't have a good feeling about this. Onto chapter 18. Great chapter.
