Reviews For Broken Wings
--his
Author's Response: Yeah, I tried to make them similar to canon, but not exactly and there is a great deal of irony in this fic, since of course Severus is actually taking care of . . .and liking . . .the student he always claimed was an arrogant child just like his father.
Author's Response: None taken. BW is a very different story than Never Again, much more dark and angsty with a bit more canon like Snape. But in its own way I think it is just as good as the other series. Harry & Sev do bond, but in a slightly different fashion. But if you're looking for a series similar to NA try either Snowy Encounters or Hidden Away, both are posted on here as well. Click on my profile here and the series button and it will show you what order to read the stories in. Oh and have you read the one-shots and short stories in the NA series, they add a bit more depth to the characters and give backstory through Harry's fifth year and also have Eileen in them in Forbidden Flight and Severus's Christmas Wish.
anyway its a great start and sev knows how to treat hawks Author's Response: Review as much as you want, since right now I'm working on chapters for Return to Prince Manor and a story on ff.net called Irresistible Chemistry (can't post that on here since it's a Sev/Lily AU Romance), so I won;t be doing a new chapter of this until maybe the end of the week or so. Thanks for reading!
Author's Response: Draco dislikes any animal he doesn't understand, or he can't bully. But he won't get away with hurting Sev's familiar.
Beautiful descriptions of Sev's ministrations. I am surprised that the young bird can tolerate so many potions made strictly for humans though, even in the miniscule doses administered. You did mention though that raptors did not respond well to magical bone repair elixir. (skelegrow?) I winced when Harry Hawk bit Severus but I had to laugh at Severus' dire threats. I am glad to see that DD seems to be...well, Dumbledore. Still enjoying. wrappedinharry Author's Response: I believe Sev can be very gentle if he chooses to be, and this is one time. Since Harry is an Animagus, his system would be able to tolerate more than an ordinary hawk's. The Bone Mend Elixir is similar to the Skelegrow, but a lesser version, so the hawk should tolerate it better. Yes, Harry biting Severus was NOT fun. I've been bitten by a parrot before and it HURTS. Yes Sev's dire threats, what he says and what he means in this case are two different things. Dumbledore is very much himself here, twinkle and all. Thank you!
The "humorous" you have there means "funny". Here you're discussing the bone, which is spelled HUMERUS. Wonderful beginning--I'm really looking forward to the upcoming chapters! Author's Response: Thanks, i try and proof as best as I can, but sometimes I miss stuff. Though i think that was the word my spell check and I were having an argument about, I kept spelling it right and it kept "correcting" it. Ahh . . .stupid computer programs! Anyway, I'm glad you're liking this!
Imagine Snape wondering why on earth DD would think to look for Harry at Snape's and Snape wouldn't care less! Poor Harry. I always wondered if a character would sort of feel trapped inside of an animagus for too long, or do they adapt to becoming the animal they've transfigured into, and not care about becoming their human form. If I had my human memories, I think that I'd feel rather handicapped in the form of a Hawk, although I guess being able to fly gives you an enormous amount of freedom. Except that I'm afraid of heights! :) Author's Response: Uh, I write really fast when my Muse is pushing me. Someone could, if they knew harry was trying to become an Animagus, but no one knew he was reading that text, he took it home during Christmas break and when he returned, nobody was paying any attention to him. The only way anyone could figure it out is if they found the books in the Owlery, but . . .something happens, you'll see next chapter. It does, and I think that the adult Animagus's keep their memories, and can switch back and forth, so they don't go crazy. But I also see the animal form as seductive, can you imagine what it must be like to be able to fly, to hear like nothing you've ever imagined and to see things over a hundred feet away? It would be such an incredible experience, i might not wan tto return to being palin old me either. And since Harry can't remember who he is at the moment . . .of course the real question is how he'll feel once he starts to remember who he is and what Snape has done for him as a hawk and also what he learns about the man as a person. I guess a hawk form wouldn't be good for you then, huh? But what about a cat?
Oh, by the way, I've updated again, LOL! Insane Muse!
Author's Response: Thanks, I wanted to show that even Severus can do something spur of the moment, instead of endlessly analyzing something. yeah, I thought so too!
When Dumbledore entered I just couldn't help but think that he truly is an idiot. I love him when he's written properly and hate him when he's not; I like him as a grandfatherly type or the manipulative type. I'm not picky. Well... except for Severus. I wonder, I wonder... how will dear old Severus react when he learns of Harry's true whereabouts and form? I wonder still... does Severus have a predatory bird animagus form? Update soon darling, and I shall do the same. I eagerly await your sequels. ::winks and darts away:: Love, Jewels. Author's Response: Old Dumbles does have the worst timing, doesn't he? Severus will be VERY shocked, to say the least, LOL! I'm looking forward to writing that chapter. As to your second question . . .maybe, you'll have to wait to discover that. Good I'm awaiting your next chapter of Moon Called.
