If Draco could orchestrate the execution of an innocent hippogriff, then I imagine he would be cruel to all animals. He has lived up (or down really) to my expectations. I am glad Crabbe wasn't naturally cruel. Still loving this. Lesley~ Author's Response: He will, they won't get away with it. Poor Harry, he got more than he bargained for when he bit the brat. Yes, Draco is a nasty kid here, with no empathy for an animal's suffering. You'll see a different side of Crabbe, actually a different Crabbe, in this story. I got tired of Draco always having a pair of gorillas around with muscles and no sense. I mean, they're supposed to be wizards and wizards should at least have some brains. It kind of offends my sensisblities to have a dumb wizard, I grew up with Tolkien and Dragonlance, and though they might not be geniuses, they should at least be able to have minds of their own and be smarter than your average person. But anyway . . .this is my take on Crabbe, very AU, but then so's the whole story. Thanks for your lovely reviews!
This is a fantastic story so far and I think you've got Harry-the-hawk just perfect - the right combination of wild and trusting-because he has to. I like your Snape in this too, especially his antagonistic thoughts about 'Potter' while unknowingly caring for him! I can't wait for your next update. Author's Response: Yes, i think they ought to be more than just two lumps that follow Draco about like goons. And Malfoy is just that kind of person, doing things just because he feels like it or his pride or whatever is hurt. I'm glad you like my hawk harry it was hard to find the right balance for him in the beginning, and as the story goes on, he'll be getting back more of his memories as well. Yes, Sev has no clue of the irony of his actions, or his thoughts, and when he finds out . . .*smirks evilly* My next update is now posted.

Oh, well, he can't be a good boy in all of them. Snape is going to have their skins. Author's Response: Very true, i enjoy writing Good Draco, but it's also fun to write him nasty, like he is in this one. Skins and organs too, I'd be guessing. Stealing from Snape is such a VERY BAD idea. And to add insult to thievery by hurting his hawk . . . But first he has to catch them, you can see the next chapter to see how he does that.
Author's Response: Malfoy is a very annoting spoiled cruel child. Severus will discover who went into the lab, he guards his private stock very carefully and subtly and he is going to jump all over Malfoy and Co. like an angry leopard. |
