I am in awe at how Snape is with this hawk, this new familiar. I am looking forward in seeing the improved and growing relationship he and Harry will have after all this. Excellent story line, keep up the great work!

Author's Response: Aren't they just sweet together?

great chapter and very amusing, i had images floating by me of the hawk doing potions, flying to and from the potions cabinet and mixing a delightful potion and getting top marks for it, also malfoy the house-elf was great, i think if anyone else gets the same punishment, they should have a elfish name, arn't i mean?

    Author's Response:

Lol, that would really be funny!

And that's actually a good idea, now who will misbehave next that we could use it on, hmm?

Thank you for all of your review replies. I love hearing back from the author after I review...not everyone does it. In response to your response to my last review, I just want to say that I do realise that not all of the Slytherins can be bad and that there are DEs from other houses...there would have to be. I was very disappointed in Deathly Hallows when the whole of the Slytherin house got up to leave when McGonagall told them to do so before the battle. My thoughts about that are that if any of them did have sympathy for HArry and are secretly against Voldemort, then they are afraid of repercussions and prefer to keep their heads down.

Anyway, to this chapter. I liked that Severus could talk to his bird, but I found it a little disconcerting that Harry hawks use of language is so human. But I suppose that is because he is an animagus. He seems to have the instincts of a hawk, but even with his memory loss, he seems to have a human's perceptions.

I just never thought that animals of any species other than humans and perhaps dolphins could communicate vocally with each other. It is more body language. So HArry hawks language skills are a little disconcerting.

    Author's Response:

I always try and reply to all my reviewers, i figure it's only polite since they took the time to leave a review and I also like discussing topics with reviewers since I don't do chat rooms.

That could be why the Slytherins didn't stand up and declare themselves, but I was waiting for some of them to just say "Down with Voldy" and go and stand up for themselves.  I was disappointed when that didn't happen.

Part of the reason Harry sounds so human is because he's an Animagus, but also it's how the potion "translates" the hawk language for Severus to comprehend.  For instance, i would assume a bird has more vocal cues and such than a dog or a cat, who communicate more with body language, but a bird also uses posture for defense and to indicate fear and aggression and affection, and all of that is translated into human speech by magic.  But even in hawk form, Harry's personality comes out, which would fit with how an Animagus keeps his own mind while in animal form, along with the animal instincts. Plus, it's fun to have Severus and Harry banter with each other, especially since Severus doesn't know who he's really talking to.  It increases the bond between them, which will be important later on.

Lol, very enjoyable! While I'm not sure I can picture Severus saying "bird brain," I did enjoy the part where the hawk gets away with fixing his hair. Good work!

Author's Response: Severus does know Muggle expressions, he just doesn't use them too often in his professor persona.  I loved the part with his hair too!

Awww, great chapter! Snape can talk to his hawk! How cute! I loved their dialogue. The scene with the Slytherins was great. Great movement and development in your story! Thanks for the update!

Author's Response: I wanted to do something different and I figured if they could speak to each other before Harry changed back, it would make their relationship so much more fulfilling.  And I love playing with the Slytherins, they're fun!

Hmm. Are we going to make Severus REALLY nuts by naming his new hawk something like, I dunno: "Lightning Bolt"? Hah! Just struck me funny!....

    Author's Response:

Ohh, now that would really drive Sev over the edge! But it IS really funny!

You'll see what he calls Harry!hawk next chapter!

Awesome chapter! This is so fun!

Author's Response: Thanks, I think it's fun to write about a Harry who doesn't know he's Harry too! Not to mention Severus, LOL!

Oh, I do so like this story! Harry the Hawk is wonderful! I am certainly looking forward to the next chapter and to find out what name Sev picks.

    Excellent writing! Bravo!

Author's Response: Thanks, I should have the next one up as soon as I'm better.  Hope you don't mind waiting.

Right. Preposterous. And Sev is building a huge mansion on the right bank of Denial. ***Snicker***

Author's Response: Yup, that's about right.  And building a wall around it too.  But that won't last long once he knows the truth.
