Reviews For Broken Wings
Author's Response: It's very frustrating for him, since he has to reconcile himself with the old Snape who treated him unfairly and the new one, who loves him and treats him like a friend. As for that, you'll see how it affects the bond between them soon! Thanks for reviewing!
And the memory of the exploding cauldron and the Polyjuice potion. Hermione was the driving force behind all of that, not HArry. He and Ron were very nervous, Hermione was the determined one. Poor Freedom is very conflicted now. And feeling especially guilty for being part of the plan to steal the potion ingredients. Of course, the difference is that Malfoy stole to make life miserable for another student. HR&H stole in an effort to try and get to the bottom of a mystery that was causing problems at the school. But Freedom doesn't remember that bit. Lesley~ Author's Response: That question will be answered next chapter. it's puzzling until Freedom learns what's been going on with Ron and Hermione. yes, that event is not strictly canon here. In this version, Harry actually encourages Hermione and Ron to help him get the ingredients. yes, Freedom is very conflcited, as he should be, considering what he has to deal with. He compares himself to Malfoy because he knows that stealing from Severus was wrong, and even when he remembers the whole incident, he will still feel guilty, because though it was done for a better reason than Malfoy, it was still not a good thing to do. The ends shouldn't justify the means. Poor Harry, his world and perceptions are being turned inside out and upside down. And the same will happen to Severus too!
Author's Response: Thanks, I'm trying to have Harry learn things a bit slowly, but he'll be finding out something new almost every chapter now, as secrets old and new are revealed.
Author's Response: I know I don't like them either and maybe one day harry will feel comfortable enough around Snape to talk about them! Thanks!
Author's Response: Yes, poor Harry! But he really does have a good heart!
Author's Response: I know, but he is afraid . . .afraid of what it could mean for their relationship, and it's also very confusing to him and he's not sure how to react. He'll be getting some more information from Ron and Hermione soon!
Poor Freedom. He's getting a third-person-view of his former life as Harry, and being forced to acknowledge some things he'd never considered about himself before. Heh--I have a feeling it's going to take some doing to get him to want to go back to being human-Harry! I can't wait to read what he learns from Ron, Hermione and Hagrid! (Not to mention Dumbledore's nastiness!) Author's Response: I hear you! As a former educator myself, I KNOW how fast those kids can push buttons. That's why I've always sympathized with Severus . . .anyone who's taught kids of any age . . .or dealt with the public in retail (like me) knows there are days when you just want to strangle someone or beat your head in against a wall! Yes, he is, and it's not at all like he imagined it would be. It will, especially since some of his former life was so terrible and he doesn' t know if he could bear going back to it and if anyone will protect him this time around. he'll be learning a few unexpected things and Dumbledore will be dealt with in two chapter, I haven't forgotten about him! A reckoning is coming.
Thanks so much for the updates! Author's Response: He really is a mess, between the Dursleys abuse and what he recalls of Severus being nasty to him and also some things he did that were irresponsible too. There's a lot of guilt and resentment there and Severus isn't going to take it well when he finds out. But the struggle between them makes for a good story, and when and if they do reconcile, they will be that much stronger for it. Thanks!
Author's Response: yes, that was a fun release for him! Thanks!
I fear Severus' temper when he finds out about Freedom, and/or the repercussions from what he might say in anger. My poor abused boys. *huggles* Author's Response: I know, my poor Freedom! And poor Sev too! That is one confrontation that will not be pleasant. |
