OMG, a false prophecy! This was a twist I did not see coming. So much pain. Please update soon.

Author's Response: Too much, maybe.  Thanks for reviewing and reading.  I've posted more!

Awesome! Now i want to strangle Albus though! How awful, to play with people's lives that way. Poor Harry, He must be so devastated! Fawkes was great, I really like him!

Author's Response: Yes, i know the feeling! Glad you liked Fawkes. And Harry is terribly upset, but eventually he'll work it out.

OOh, Lovely twist, I really like it. DD is so going to get poned by Harry... He really needs to get a really good chalking by Freedom.

Author's Response: Yeah, that's for sure! LOL!

Dumbledore, you IDJIT!! On so many levels! Severus is right--the Headmaster is about as "bright" as a five-year-old, sometimes! ::fumes vociferously for about five minutes:: Albus should leave the plotting to Slytherins. They know to plan contingencies because things just might not go as planned; and to *read the bloody fine print!* SHEESH! I can see why he'd think a false prophecy might help things, but--! It was so slap-dash thrown together! Granted, if it weren't for the numb-skull idea of making *Peter Pettigrew* their Secret-keeper, James and Lily would probably still be alive. Of course, Neville's parents could well have ended up dead, instead of practically dead... Checking for actual births on the specific day in his false prophecy would have the common sense thing to do in that scheme--Albus must *definitely* have been a charge-right-in-and-don't-think-'til-it's-over Gryffindor. ::gnashes teeth:: No wonder Severus is so prejudiced against that House! Between the Marauders and Dumbledore--!

Hmm Maybe this will end up giving Harry the idea of cultivating his suppressed Slytherin characteristics, and *thinking* before *doing.*

Heh. I'm rather proud of Freedom--I don't think Severus noticed his familiar was having a melt-down. And Fawkes is a sweetie! It also looks like Freedom's not blaming Severus--at least not yet. I hope he keeps it all aimed square at Dumbledore, and really gets it that Snape was just following orders in relaying that false prophecy.

I hope Fawkes pops back in again sometime! =]

    Author's Response:

It will, if anything will! Albus really screwed it up this time!

No, Freedom is still blaming Albus, even though what Severus did was stupid too.

Fawkes will be popping in again relatively soon!

I've updated twice, by the way.

    *Three cheers for Fawkes!*

Wow. Of all the things I could have expected, this secret was not one of them.

I really liked the interaction between Freedom and Fawkes. Especially with Fawkes knowing who he really is. Very nice touch there.

Five more months, eh? Hogwarts will never make it that long. Someone will have to run her off before then.

Poor Harry, feeling as though this is his fault as well. Yeah, we know it's Fudge's fault but Harry won't seee it that way.

    Very well done. Again.

    Author's Response:

You could be right, Freedom will certainly try his best.

And Harry will always try and blame himself before someone else, it's how he was raised.

    Thanks for all your reviews!

I think you have successfully made me mad at Dumbledore. What a flipping idiot! Making up a prophecy--that does sound like it would be right up his alley! I do, however, have to criticize Dumbledore's first mistake this chapter of signing the line without reading the fine print. I don't think he'd do that; as the Supreme Mugwump, he'd have to know law and would know better than to do that, relief or not. I've always seen Dumbledore as intelligent, but not conventionally; he'll put the good of the world first and forget to consider what will happen to the people around him.

I do like the idea of him making up the prophecy though and lying to Harry. I think he knows the consequences of his actions now, but it's much too late to stop things that are already in motion. Good grief--maybe Sev should kill Voldemort since it doesn't have to be Harry.

I also really liked your kindly Fawks and how Harry was surprised to find he could speak to him. I like how intelligent Fawks was too; after living as long as he has, Fawks would be a comforting figure. I hope they chat more soon (it would be cool if Harry could still understand him while in his human form too).

I'm excited to hear Sev spout tales about Lily! Please update soon (I really don't have to say this though, do I? You update really quickly all the time--is this story prewritten or are you really writing this fast?).

    -P.G.

    Author's Response:

Yes, I really do write that fast, this story isn't pre-written.  It's just jumping out of my head.

That false prophecy idea wa ssomething I've been toying with for awhile now and I agree, it is the kind of thing Albus would do, meaning to do good, instead it goes horribly wrong.

As for the other, well, even the smartest individual allows his emotions to color his thinking every now and again.  Considering it's Harry, Dumbledore must have been having an attack of nerves, worrying that his savior would be expelled and then what would he do after he'd already screwed up Harry's life so much?

Actually there is a new prophecy in motion, if you'll go back to the dinner chapter and re-read Trelawney's prediction you'll see what it is.

I enjoyed writing Fawkes he was interesting and he would be able to comfort Harry best right then.  Yeah it would, but it makes more sense for Harry to understand him as a hawk.

Severus will be talking quite a bit about Lily next chapter, as well as James and Sirius and that infamous memory.

Wow, that was...I don't have words.
I'm curious how will be Sev and Harry behaving after Harry changes back. I hope that everything will be o.k. between them.
It is the best chapter ever!

Author's Response: Thanks, so glad you liked it!

But that's just awful! How could have Dumbledore done this? Yes, rationally I understand some of his reasoning, but still. Poor Harry and Severus. Good chapter, by the way. Your Fawkes character is really nice.

Author's Response: Dumbledore has made a grave mistake and now he will pay for it.  harry will take a long time to forgive him this.

Oh poor Harry, hearing all this. I didn't realise that Harry knew who he was, I thought that he was just remembering random memories. Ooh, when will Sev discover who he really is? I think that maybe now, he won't be as angry thought, one he finds out who the Hawk really is.

It must be difficult for Harry to hear that Sev knew Lily and about the prophecy. I loved how Fawkes comforted Freedom.

Sweet story, and I'm looking forward to the next chapter.

    Author's Response:

No, he was quite aware of who he was.  Severus will discover Harry's secret in a few more chapters in a most unexpected fashion.

Yes, it is difficult, but eventually he will have to come to terms with it.  I liked writing Fawkes comforting Freedom, it made me smile.

My goodness--that was a twist I certainly wasn't expecting. Fawkes knows Harry and Albus made up the prophecy. Snape may have one MAD hawk on his hands--will Harry, in his anst, reveal himself to Sev? He has a good "safe" way to stay hidden even if Sev knows were he is--they don't even have to tell Albus anything, other than Harry is safe. I could easily see this being the cause of a strong aliance between Harry and Sev.

    More soon please!
    V

Author's Response: he does, but Harry's actually starting to get a handle on that impulsive temper for once.  Though he really is mad at Albus!
